Guest lorna2610 Posted February 12, 2010 Hi there, just a quick question went for medicals today for 175 visa me and youngest son who is 10 weeks passed with flying colours but my husband james who is the main visa applicant as he is in IT has been asked to see our gp when they did the urine sample they discovered quite a lot of sugar and traces of blood they think it may be the start of diabetes (his mum has it) he has been tested before and there was no sign they also asked for our nearly 4yr old son to see our gp aswell they said he seemed a little immature for his age and he was wearing a nappy we had to drive from leeds to manchester for our medical so it seemed practical also in the last couple of months i have had a baby and we have been involved in a car crash where the car was written off so we have had a lot going on since the start of dec both he and hubby are booked in with our gp for monday, my question is could any of these things make us fail our medicals, any advice or help would be greatly appreciated could you pm any responses to me Many Thanks Lorna

Guest shirlw Posted February 12, 2010 It's nail biting isn't it we have a 12 year old who was rfeferred for psychological assessment just because he is on Ritalin.Everything completed 10 days ago and still waiting. Difficult to give a difinitive answer as only the HOC in Sydney can decide your fate. What I do know is they are looking for health issues that may pose a financial drain to the Australian economy like cancers,HIV,TB and kids with special needs, heart problems to name a few.Pre-diabetic tendancies and your little one I would not like to answer that one but good luck anyhow I empathise with you. Guest KerryCraig Posted February 12, 2010 Hi lorna, Im sure everthing will be ok!! I have read and read and read about medicals as i am type 1 Diabetic of 2 years and what i have read and been told there doesnt seem to be a problem as long as everything is controlled etc..... so if it does happen that hubby is, he will be put on medication and that will be fine! We have our meds booked for 13th March and petrified:wideeyed: Hope everything comes of ok, im sure it will........ Good luck, Kerry
Guest Letasha Posted February 12, 2010 Hi there first of all <<<<Big Hug>>>> I know this must be stressing u out but pls dont worry. As the above poster has said, diabetes is controllable therefore poses no problems for ur visa (although it will result in more form filling). As for your son I couldnt comment - but wearing a nappy and possibly being a little shy is just kids for you. I hope everything works out for you and remember people can get there when they are not in 'perfect' health.
ali 16,504 Posted February 12, 2010 It shouldn't result in a visa being denied, but may just cause some delays as further investigations are carried out. People with diabetes are granted visas all the time. I just want PIO to be a happy place where people are nice to each other and unicorns poop rainbows
lizzy27 154 Posted February 13, 2010 I've just been diagnosed with epilepsy but like diabetes it'd controllable.. I don't see how they could fail meds for either of those 2 medical conditions. The treatment I take has Been working & like diabetics they take their insulin & are fine. I think theyre more concerned with life threatning illnesses that will cost the government lots of money.. I would make sure your hubby is sorted cuz if he is diabetic then ur best not letting it go unmedicated. I think in the last 3 yrs I've known I have epileptic tendecies but never saw a doctor til I had a grand mal in front of my kids. Now it's sorted (hopefully) Im seeing a great neurologist here & feeling much better. Don't worry about it I'm sure you'll be fine :-) goodluck [url="http://www.move2thecoast.com.au
Pinkestlady 10 Posted June 25, 2013 What about mild depression? Would that be a reason to fail someone? EOI made 26/12/14. - Invited 9/1/15. - applied 18/2/15 - PCC's loaded 18/2/15. - medicals done 17/3/15 - CO assigned 17/4/15 - requesting form 80 for both and military history for hubby. Additional requested docs uploaded 20/5/15.. Visa granted 15/6/15!!!!!
