Guest scottish-kiwi Posted May 16, 2007 Share Posted May 16, 2007 does anyone know whats best to do if i have an isa here and i have got a temporary visa (461) to get into oz. will the fact the my visa is only temp (renewable every 5 yrs ) mean that i can still keep benefits of having an isa in the uk - or will the oz taxman want his bit?? just wondered as i will never be able to get permanent visa in oz . whats everyone else doing if they have an isa?? thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Mike@Bonbeach Posted May 16, 2007 Share Posted May 16, 2007 Scottish Kiwi I think you will find that once you leave the UK and start paying taxes in OZ then you will loose any tax-free breaks you have in this country. You will have to declare any UK income on the IR form"Leaving the United Kingdom",and interest from an ISA is probably deemed to be income like any interest from savings. Sorry. Mike and Connie.
