Rubab 210 Posted December 23, 2009 Hi all, Can anyone tell me if the Christmas vacation ahead will have any impact on the processing time of applications? They will remain closed but does that mean the pending dicisions will be delayed? ali 16,190 Posted December 23, 2009 I guess it will have some impact, if there aren't any staff there to process the visas, but the Christmas break is a relatively short one and shouldn't delay things too much. I just want PIO to be a happy place where people are nice to each other and unicorns poop rainbows
Guest proud2beaussie Posted December 23, 2009 DIAC offices are closed from Friday 25th to Wednesday 30th of December and also closed on Friday 1 January . Our State and Territory Offices and call centres will be closed for the Christmas holiday period from close of business Thursday 24 December 2009 and will re-open Wednesday 30 December 2009. We will also be closed on Friday 1 January 2010 for the New Year’s Day holiday. Our offices and call centres will be open for business on 30 and 31 December 2009. During this time we aim to continue to process applications and respond to enquiries in line with our existing service standards. If you have applied online you can use your Transaction Reference Number (TRN) to check the status of your application at any time. Guest wanderer Posted January 1, 2010 Up until about the last week of January is nominally when a lot of businesses and government department employees are taking annual leave to co-incide with major school holidays and so you can expect even with offices open there'll be reduced staffing. So yep, processing will be slower for a few weeks still.
