Just wanted to extend a welcome to people just arrived or soon to be arriving.

Been here 9 years from Norfolk and loving it. I found joining the local football team the best way to meet people and fit in.

Hamersley Rovers are currently looking for new players. Very good players very welcome in our First team but we cater for all levels (and genders!) with amateurs, socials, masters (35+) and ladies. We also have an affiliated junior club.

We are based in Carine Open Space, Perth northern suburbs, 5 min walk from Warwick train station. Come and meet a lot of ex pats, aussies and people from all over the world at our club and feel at home.

more info at www.hamersleyrovers.com.au or email admin@hamersleyrovers.com.au for contact.

Cheers

Joe

Hi Joe,

we are coming to Perth next year, 17 year old son will be gagging to play, although worried about the heat, hes used to playing against the easterly winds of Lowestoft so will be a challenge,we are moving to the Norhtern suburbs just not sure where yet!

How does Perth compare to Norwich?

I'm actually from Somerleyton (small world huh). Love Perth but love going home too (still call it home after all these years!). We have a youth development amateur team for 18-24 year olds (17's ok though), an amateur first team which is about Anglian Comb standard and our affliated Junior Club has an U18's. So plenty of choices for the lad. We're smack bang in the middle of the Northern Suburbs and only 5 mins from Warwick train station.

Heats only a problem early in the season, winter its not too bad. What level/club does your son play.

Hi, will probably be out there end of Jan, have you a place for a fit 42 year old striker.

When does the season start and end over there.

Do the pitches get rock hard? is it moulded studs

Absolutley. We have amateurs (fairly decent level), socials (like sunday league, but less dirty :-) and masters for over 35's. Easy to find the level you want. Pre-season for amateurs is January. For masters and socials its Feb/March. Season starts in April.

feel free to email me at joenorwich@yahoo.com for more info.

Cheers

Joe

  • 3 weeks later...

A quick update now we have finalised our pre-season training program.

I would like to extend an invite to anybody newly arrived in Perth (or about to arrive) and wishing to join a local football club for friends, fun, socialising and keeping fit. We are based in Carine in the middle of Perth's Nothern suburbs, 5 mins walk from Warwick train station.

We have 9 senior teams.

Amateurs Div 1 + res - training twice a week, very good standard.

Amateur Div 5 + res - youth development team 18-24 year olds.

3 Social teams - sunday league style competition

Masters - 35+

Ladies - 18+

If you are interested in coming down, either contact myself by PM or at joenorwich@yahoo.com or just turn up for pre-season (amateurs) 6.30pm, Thursday 12th January 2010, Carine Open Space, corner of Beach and Okely Roads (and every Tuesday - Thursday after). Great club, great atmosphere.
