CO assigned! But got questions about Brazil police certificates and health checks

Hello,

Our case (175 visa) have just been assigned a CO, who asked for health checks and police certificates. Of course we are over the moon and dreaming about Australia already but I got a couple questions...

First, health checks. We've done ours and the doctor said will send them along with the X rays to Sydney (the office handling our application is Adelaide). Is this sorted then or do we need to do anything else?

Second, this is a long shot but... I live in UK but as I haven't lived here for the last 10 years I need police checks from Brazil. Brazil is definitely a country of contrasts, and one good thing about it is that it is technologically very advanced in some areas. In the case of the police checks, I can obtain them instantly via the internet, no hassle or paper work!

The way it works is, you enter all your personal details in the police website and it checks their records and generates a online report that includes a unique ID number. You can then print that report. If someone else needs to check if the report is authentic, they just enter the report ID in the same website, and the website displays the same report as long as it is a valid ID.

This is really cool, but I was wondering if this would be acceptable by the immigration office? Or do I need to get old-fashioned, paper copies which will take forever to obtain?

One last question; because the CO only asked for the health and police checks, can I assume that everything else is OK and nothing more will be needed? Or they ask for more documents as they need them?

Thanks

Luis

Hi there,

Now that I have the answers, I am going to reply to my own questions in case it helps someone else.

First, we didn't have to do anything else regarding the health checks. The doctor sent them to Sydney and after a couple weeks the status of them in our online application changed to "completed".

Second, yes, the Brazilian police checks obtained via the internet are accepted with no problems! That was very good news and saved me a lot of trouble...

And last, they haven't asked for anything else and in fact we have just been granted our 175 visa!!!

We just can't believe that it happened so quickly... what a xmas present

Thanks to everyone for the support and for answering my questions here, that definitely made things easier for us.

Cheers,

Luis & Jay

Hi Luis,

Congratulations! In deed, a good Christmas present.

BTW, can you let us know if you are under CSL?

Thanks.

Hi Violet,

Yes, my occupation is in the CSL under Computing Professionals (speciality Oracle). I guess that is why it was processed so quickly...

Luis

Hi Luis,

Thanks for the reply. Just wonder when will they allocate CO to those who are still waiting for one...

HI Violet

could you tell me if you are a non-CSL? I am waiting for a CO as well but dont if that is going to happen anytime soon due to the fact that I am a 475 non CSL.

Another question is, which website shall I request for the police certificate in Brazil. I am Brazilian (living outside Brazil) if that works will be really great. Which doc shall we provide? CPF or ID?

Muito Obrigada ;) and best of luck down under.

Hi Luciana,

Yes, am under 475, non-csl. Am still waiting for CO too. Not sure if they are able to provide us in this financial year.

Regarding your second question, sorry, I can't help. May be others are able.

Cheers,

Violet

Hi

Congrats!

Not sure if you are still checking this website, but I have a question for you: I am from Brazil, and my case officer asked for police certificate. I sent them out 2 (one federal and one regional), but they said they needed 3 police certificates from Brazil! I have no idea which one they are talking about, my agent tried to call the case officer today but she couldnt reach her, will try tomorrow. Did you send only one police check? Hope you can clarify this matter, thanks!

Hello There, maybe a good idea would be send a PM to Luis and check which website he got his certificates from. I am also from Brazil but at the moment I do not have a CO assigned.

If that worked for him, should work for you...I guess

Boa sorte e keep us informed.

Cheers

Luciana

Hi Sonia,

I see that you solved your problem already -- indeed the certificate that was missing was the Justica Federal's. I had to send all 3 of them, but as you can obtain them via the internet it wasn't a problem at all!

I got and replied to your private message also.

Do you currently live in Brazil? Do you intend to move to Australia as soon as you get the visa? Whereabouts there, have you decided? I am planning to move to Perth by the end of this year...

Good luck with your application!

Luis

PS: Quite a few Brazilians in here eh?

Hi OZwanted,

congrats! I am also dealing with the Brazilian police certificates, and it is great that this service is offered online. The difference is, I am not Brazilian but have stayed in Brazil for a total of more than a year. However, I have always been there on a tourist visa. That's why I don't have any Brazilian ID or registration number. DIAC asks me to provide the 3 checks, but only the one from the federal police can be obtained by using my passport number. The Brazilian authorities as well as the Barzilian Embassy in my homecountry have told me that they don't know about any case of a not registered foreigner to be able to obtain the other two ckechs. DIAC still requests them. Does anyone have any idea or experience how to obtain the aditional checks? I'd much appreciate your help!!!
