But we've seen recently how easy it is for situations to regress - just look at women rights in the so-called Land of The Free!

But babies rights have improved a lot. That is a good thing.

So why wish everyone a happy pride month when you're clearly not behind it. It seems a little disingenuous, almost feels as if you're trying to be provocative just for the sake of it. But that's just my take

Very stormy weather here.  Howling wind and driving rain.  The electricity in our street and the street next to us went off.  Out came the big flashlights and battery radio.  Log heater keeping us warm.  We were nice and cosy wondering how long it would be until power returned then after a couple of hours the power came on again.  Better go and get dinner on.

Well, after a night of thinking the tiles might be ripped off the roof, today there is no wind and a cloudless sky.  Beautiful day though on the chilly side.

Mine too. You put it mildly.

First day of winter, and it’s the warmest day for more than a month.

Is it safe to swim in the sea anymore in the UK? All you hear about are water companies dumping raw sewage. Doesn't sound appealing.

Always been that way, good for the immune system

There's a lot less dumping of raw sewage now than there was in the past - which is why it now gets a lot of publicity when it happens while in the old days it was just considered normal practice.

for a whole month!?

Why only a month? They're proud of being gay so why aren't they proud for the other 11 months of the year too? It doesn't make sense.

Just trying to be empathetic.  One doesn't necessarily have to be behind something to wish people happyness.  It's like Jews or Muslims saying happy Christmas.

Good point.

The fact that you used "they" suggests "us and them" it shouldn't be that way which is why I have an issue with these things. They divide us.

I don’t know why you’re laughing Simmo. It’s not funny. It’s just rude and unnecessary. If you don’t like it (pride month) no need to post a fake ‘happy pride month’ post just so Parley can like it.
Maybe go discuss your concerns with your gay friends and see what they think.

I'm sorry (not sorry) that you find opinions that differ from yours "rude and unnecessary". But I don't think questioning the narrative is rude.  We are lucky enough to have members of the gay community on the forum so it's a great opportunity to educate ourselves on their pov.  What I find funny is how you and another poster constantly post ad hominem attacks at @Parleyand I.

May I suggest you take some time off and relax a little. You seem rather uptight lately.

I wish everyone happiness and I have no issues with people living life how they wish.

My issue is everyone wanting an apology of people etc etc

Prime example is coon cheese, it’s the name of the guy who made it.

Should I start complaining when I see crackers on the shelf?

Not sure every other person needs to be assailed with someone's happiness though.

Happy Pride month.

How will you be celebrating?

Live and let live I say.  As a famous person said at the beginning of last century, "I don't care what they do so long as they don't do it in the street and frighten the horses."

The point of that old quote is they are not harming you or anyone else so don't worry about it.

I thought the point the quote was making was do it in private at home. Not out on the streets where we have to witness it, and it will scare the horses.

True but I put a more modern version on it.  Just to keep up to date.  Move with the times.

Hmm... I agree with you on most things but the coon cheese thing?  Good point about crackers though 😂

There’s a huge difference between different opinions and needless rude posts. To clarify as you seem somewhat deliberately confused, questioning the narrative is not rude, but baiting is when any regular to the forum already knows your views on this topic. Why bother with the original post ‘how will you be celebrating’ and cut straight to the chase ie I won’t be celebrating because a, b or c etc. May I suggest you reflect on that. You seem a little bored lately. No need to get personal.
