It's not something you would need, because you had the smallpox vaccine when you were little, I'm sure. The smallpox vaccine protects against monkeypox. Anyone born after 1980 didn't get the smallpox vaccine, so they have no immunity to monkeypox. However, @Lavers, you wouldn't need it either, assuming you and your wife are faithful, because it's spread through sexual contact. That's why it's still an issue in the gay community especially so I can understand why they're pushing the vaccine. It's not a particularly dangerous disease but it is nasty and disfiguring.

I was in Bournemouth last weekend. Lovely weather and lots of people swimming in the sea and little ones paddling and running in and out the water filling their buckets up. I expect they’re all still alive and well today. I agree the idea doesn’t sound appealing but safe?…….I expect we’d all hear about it if people were dropping dead across the country following a dip in the sea.

So tacky. At least it's not too intrusive. Though I admit that the first thing you think when you see it isn't necessarily 'that looks just like a potato'.

Well we discussed it on PIO in this very thread a while back. I pointed out it was really of concern only to gay men. You made a PC comment about anyone could catch it. Do you recall now? So you had certainly heard of it before. Your memory may be slipping though. Buy a man eat fish. The Day, Teach Man, to lifetime. - Joe Biden.

I can't remember the monkeypox virus being mentioned. I'll look it up. Found it. As Marisa said, it's similar to smallpox. Edited May 29 by Toots

Recent youth detention riot , that saw him change his stance from that of the rioters being akin to terrorists, to which his tone changed a few days later after being critiqued. Lots more going down in The State of Excitement (as so termed back in the eighties on number plates) Perhaps he left before being 'pushed'? Only just back from a trio kowtowing to the Chinese. He had big plans there as well with developing ties. A lot could be said on that and just how much WA is benefitting, but not for a forum as this. It appears no one had any idea he was about to dismount the saddle. All too easy to state exhaustion. Almost a copy from recall from recent Arden resignation speech across the ditch in New Zealand. No apparent successor seems to come to mind to commentators. Edited May 29 by Blue Flu
