In Australia it is generally packets of cigarettes smuggled in from China or similar countries. No health warnings and usually about $20 a packet instead of $50. Lots of Asian shops will sell it under the counter to regulars. Vapes will end up the same way soon. As pointed out in a previous post banning anything just beans a few make a lot of money from the product banned. Which is why bans and the making of drugs illegal is supportive in certain sectors of course.

May the best team win.
Blue Manna 22 Posted 1 hour ago Haven't had fish and chips for a while. Maybe a year. I was shocked. It's basically doubled. Not Kidding. I thought my memory was playing tricks on me. But no. The fish and chips website even has last year's prices on their promotional photos. Obviously haven't had time to update it. Large Cod was £6. Now £11. Large chips was £2.50. Now £5. I'm gob smacked. Quite unbelievable.

I rarely ever bought British fish and chips because I never liked the chips (too stodgy), although I do love battered fish. It's one of the few things I miss from the UK, food-wise. Those prices sound exorbitant - do you live in London or the South East? My mate was complaining that fish and chips was 'almost a tenner' in Stafford a few months back, which I guess means it was 8 or 9 quid. You can still get for a fiver in Blackpool so that seems like the place to go, although you might spend much more in petrol! https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/chippy-claims-cheapest-fish-chips-29894327 Edited 31 minutes ago by InnerVoice Australian Citizen since 2007 | Returned to the UK 2008-2011 | Lived in Sydney, Brisbane, now Cairns. My local in Melbourne. I get a grilled snapper, minimum chips and 1 fried dim sim for $18. Delicious. Hasn't gone up much in the last year either maybe $1. My local Indian restaurant for example i get a takeaway lamb curry with rice and naan bread. That has gone from $23.50 to $30 in the last year. 1 Buy a man eat fish. The fish looked nice but the chips looked awful, although I don't think the polystyrene container does much for the presentation! I only ever used to buy the fish when I lived in the UK, then take it home and eat it with a previously-made salad so it wasn't quite so unhealthy.
