HappyHeart 13,874 Posted November 23, 2022 We are staying in Matlock Bath overnight for some Mother/Daughter time and to see the countryside. The weather was dry yesterday and the air so crisp and clear. Have a renewed aappreciation for all the UK has to offer in the short snapshot we have seen. If only it were easier to pop back. We'd like to do a toyr of the country at some point. Show the kids their roots. Who ever has the time and the money at the same time though?? Such a different and distinct 'British' vibe. Pubs. The place we went to last night built 1643. The old British boozers. Awesome range of beers. Served a bit warm... Downside, seeing homeless drug addicts right outside of Tesco. Clearly off their heads. Why don't they get moved on?

It was bad with the homeless before we left, if you went into Manchester they were just sat in the shop door ways during the day with shoppers just stepping over them.
Bottie 380 Posted November 23, 2022 I am writing this because it could help someone … Today I went for a colonoscopy … I have bowel cancer … on a visit to my Doctor recently I happened to mention I had become constipated … I had never had this problem before … he said it can happen as you get older … suggested I take Movicol , ( spelling ) , but I will arrange for you to have a bowel test … results came back next day … there was blood detected … arranged for a colonoscopy which came through quickly because he requested it and I did not have to wait to see a specialist … I have always taken a bowel test ever two years using the kit you can get from a chemist … I had no other symptoms… and sorry about this but when I became constipated and did check for blood …

I've had the year were all 'the tests' have become due, mammograms, bowel cancer screening etc. Hopefully, because you've been doing the regular tests everything will have been caught early. 1 I just want PIO to be a happy place where people are nice to each other and unicorns poop rainbows

In WA too often move on notices are given out that disguises to a large degree the severe drug problem that has impacted this state/country. Not to mention 'the silence' around the matter. In UK more in your face and more varying drugs. But moving away from drugs, homeless more visible in UK in greater number as well. Out in WA while visible, as with much more hidden and not brought to the attention of the public to such a degree. But even that has changed over recent times with the dire shortage of rental accommodation. Many of the issues are the same in both countries, with one glaring example in WA, that I have regularly pointed out and indeed goes on around me. A former school mate of mine was recently diagnosed. The good thing about this condition (if anything good) is that it is quite treatable , but of course the earlier the detection the better. HappyHeart 13,874 Posted November 27, 2022 On our way to the airport with mixed emotions. I'm hoping to come back in July with my son. My daughter is very upset at thought of not seeing Grandad again. How selfish we are to emigrate. 4

My daughter is very upset at thought of not seeing Grandad again. How selfish we are to emigrate. In a sense yes. But also the worth of migrating these days should be considered closely. Children are better around family in my view and WA is hardly the wholesome offering life it may once have presented itself as being. That in no way detracts from some serious issues in living in UK , but many appear to find a new lease of life in the enjoyment of being 'home' The issues involving youth in WA, and at a guess all around Australia , is something worth pondering again in my view.
