I know no one will care but...........

Recommended Posts

Thanks Tinks, as hard as it is, I do know all this and always try to take something along to talk about, be it a photo, something I am crafting, knitting etc, or a book we have both read and enjoyed, or my woofer. Woofer loves all the oldies and they love him, so that is always a talking point, but it is getting harder to deal with the wheelchair and a very large Choc Lab on a lead at the same time, so woofer tends to come when there are 2 of us visiting.

..........you do a wonderful thing....

..........I have only known her OH for 6 years so find it harder to find things to talk about.....

..........things have declined rapidly this last year.....

..........taking the dog is a lovely idea.....

...........he still has his dog......though she is called any of the names of past pets....

............rarely her own lol....

I'm starving now! I didn't eat anything at all on the second flight. The food sounded horrible although the yogurt and fruit looked ok. Just woke up every so often for water. Still feel like the room is spinning a little but definitely feel a lot better than I did before

Keep drinking water Stacey so you are rehydrated..... Never underestimate the stress that long haul travel puts on your body. One of my adopted children is your age and a flight attendant working long haul for Virgin. She tells me that I should only drink lots of water, as much fruit and veg as I can and to avoid alcohol and all the carb meals provided in flight. The last three times I have done the Perth-London and London-Perth route I have followed her advice and I have to say that it works for me. Still get jetlag to a degree but feel so much better than I ever have on the many other long haul routes I have travelled. So water, water, water.....

......Just trying to be helpful so don't shoot me down if my personal views do not coincide with yours! :animal-dog:

Tinks I know only too well this scenario as you are aware. My Mum is 92 and confined to a wheelchair and living in a wonderful Aged Care Facility, but she has absolutely no idea who she is or where she is. Thankfully she still knows me, but most other family members she doesn't, so slowly they are all stopping going to visit her. It is so very very sad, and if Mum knew how she was, she would be the first one to say "shoot me". She isn't really my Mum any more, if you know what I mean, and I find it so painful when I visit alternate days. Just can't do the every day visits now as I spend too long in the car park afterwards bawling my eyes out. So hard to keep a sense of "what is" and a sense of humour too at times eh?

My grandfather on the other side had a seizure and knocked himself out about a month ago,

Unfortunately its affected his brain as well and put him in full time care,

some days he is ok, others not.

Yesterday he recognised one of his grandsons,

but today didnt recognise his wife and son

We've all been told to go and see him in the next week or so..........

I know i will, but i dont want to.

I dont want to remember him as he is now, id rather my memories from the first 39 years instead of the last two months....

...........but still needing your love and visit.....

...........your still in his heart,......as he's in yours.......

..........I don't have private cover but needed to go private due to the urgency.....

..........it was costly.....

..........so I chose to continue under the public system....and have been well looked after....but

..........I received a phone call today to say my specialist would see me under the public system......

..........the kindness and thoughtfullness has overwhelmed me....,

Yeah I def think there's something going on with me. I kept getting stabbing pains in my stomach although they've eased off a bit now. Trying to drink more but I'm probably still not drinking as much as I should

I got my final 2 results today and they were good. Just one exam and then it all over. Hoping for a good overall result. Makes no difference to the qualification but I have worked hard through some tough times so pleased with myself.

Sounds like it could be IBS brought on by stress combined with lack of food.

I just had a phone call from the school, son has handed in the panadol I'd put in his pocket to take at lunchtime if needed (has a toothache) Could I come to the school to fill in a form or he can't take it. If it got into the hands of another child it would 'put them at risk'. Told them to put it in the bin as I won't be going to fill in a form. Why he gave it in is beyond me? Often give him one to take if he's complaining of a sore throat or headache ( excludes malingering). He normally just keeps it in his pocket.

I said 'but you can give a simple panadol can't you if they need one? No, all medicines have to be administered by parents or the child if a form has been filled in. I understand why but seems well OTT.
