I know no one will care but...........

Recommended Posts

Well quite a few people on here said I should maybe learn to drive. Some areas over there apparently don't have great transport although I never planned on going anywhere really remote unless on a tour or something. It's just the last few nights with the trains that's made me realise how easier life would be if I was driving! I had to pay a taxi home because I missed my connection due to signaling problems

You should learn to drive whatever SS....it just opens up a lot more avenues.

Look down the line, say later on, when your settled and have kids. Do you really want to be having to drag them on public transport to do the shopping etc.

I have to admit I don't really understand someone that doesn't learn to drive, I know it seems daunting, but once you've done it, that's it, you don't even have to get a car but at least you know you have a licence if needed.

No I mean I will learn to drive but I can't afford to do it AND try save in time for September. Which doesn't look likely anyway. I think I'll have to put it back another 6 - 10 months to get a comfortable amount of money behind me instead of going with bare minimum

Would you put learning to drive a priority over your WHV ??

If I was to leave in September then no but if I was to put it back a bit I could probably afford to do both. I'm not sure how long it would take me to pass though. I was useless at my lessons. Plus I think the longer I wait the harder It would be for me to leave my job. I'm already quite attached to the people. It's just nights like last night that make me think I'm a total idiot for not doing my lessons sooner. Plus tonight I'll finish at 22.00 or 22.10 but I won't get home till 23.00 just because of the public transport

Went to watch Ross Noble last night...he was v good at the ad libbing/ audience participation

(more bloody Geordies in Perth )

Wondered what he would have made out of my earlier encounter.....

So I get a bit peeved off where I live with the don't let your dogs off the leash brigade as some of you may know ...

I understand both sides of the arguement...but as I brought dogs over when they were five and used to running free in England's finest woods n fields, and neither caring about even saying hello to other dogs, I like to let them off if safe to do so.

after work I walked them up to the local park, no one about, so I let them off. We walked round the park to a small wooded area, I stood at the edge as they watered the few trees there, I caught out of my eye a woman arriving with a little dog, also off lead. No probs I thought.....until my two caught sight of said little dog and took off chasing it:elvis:

All hell broke loose....the woman screaming at me, that my dogs should be on the leash, me saying sorry and shouting my two to get back.

after a few mins of something like a benny hill sketch....little dog runs up a tree:mask:

Woman still screaming at me....all I could do was ask her.....what is it??

Thats my cat says she (forgot to mention I Didnt have my glasses on).

I just stood there, chin hitting the floor...

Said to her.." You've been screaming at me, cos my dogs are off leash, and you've just brought your cat, off leash, to a well known dog walking park, are you serious"

seems it hit a nerve, she went quiet after that:wink:

honestly the longer I'm on this plant, the less I just don't get it:swoon:

Personally Stace, in your position now, I would be making driving lessons a priority.

Ok I don't how long you can put off the WHV ....but Aus isn't going anywhere.

whats the worst that can happen?? You can always get a holiday visa:yes:
