Nearlythere1 111 Posted November 1, 2014 Yeah I feel worse now lol. Part of me is relived though even though it's going to be more stress finding another job quickly. I'm proud of myself for telling him that his assistant has a major attitude problem though. A few years ago this like of thing would have just made me really upset. I'm sure I'll find something else, I want to try other places in Lake District if possible. My aunt just offered to come down and get me lol bless her Am sure you'll find something soon. Character building, leave with your head held high and dignity intact is always the best.. Their loss at the end of the day.. In sunny Townsville...
Guest51810 11,261 Posted November 1, 2014 I'll want to kick the assistant manager in the baws tomorrow lol. To be fair to the boss he's on a total guilt trip, offered me a lift to the train station next weekend (which I'm not accepting) and said he would take the 3 of us out for dinner next week. Tempted to say no but I've never turned down free food

Just pick the most expensive dish on the menu and drink heavily.. :biglaugh: Don't forget dessert... In sunny Townsville...
Guest51810 11,261 Posted November 1, 2014 Ohh what a good idea! I'll be ordering steak lol i did genuinely have a craving for a steak the other day. The only reason I'm not taking the lift is that it's on the wrong day, I'm going home Friday. That was the original plan, it's just a one way trip this time unless I line up another job before I go. And the end of all our exploring will be to arrive at where we started, and know the place for the first time.
Guest51810 11,261 Posted November 1, 2014 Sod dinner and lift, ask for a leaving bonus as his get out clause! Bonus.. No chance of that lol he told me that I would get a pay rise eventually but I'm almost certain that I heard the other woman say she was on minimum wage like me and she's supposed to be head housekeeper! He was going on about bonuses for next year but we were all to fill in forms about each other.. How crazy is that. God can you imagine what the assistant manager would have said about me lol
Nearlythere1 111 Posted November 1, 2014 Who's the manager, Alan Sugar or something.. Sounds a bit odd to me, best out of there.. Take the food, the lift and a good reference, if I were you.. :chatterbox: In sunny Townsville...

It's not good for a small team that you need to get along with. I'll take the food and the reference lol

Maybe he watches the apprentice lol.. He goes back to the country he's from after winter so it's probably to do with that but I still think it's a stupid idea. It turns people against each other. Oh well I'm not going to give a toss about things for the rest of my time here, might even deliberately burn some toast  I've got a bet on with my mum that the assistant manager is really nice to me now that he knows that I'm leaving.

Metoo 1,491 Posted November 1, 2014 We have come home from our holidays today and collected the cat from the cattery on the way home. Poor cat is desperate to go out into the garden but there is a huge bonfire/fireworks party going on just up the road. Can't let him out and he is meowing like mad at the door. :dull: Flights booked for Sydney 29/09/2015
Guest Ptp113 Posted November 1, 2014 Well today escalated quickly.. I need to look for a new job now. Ended up having a chat with the manager and he said that it's absolutely dead after the October week and he doesn't really need 3 workers over the winter. Since the other two are locals and really experienced it's me that's going. Plus he knows I wasn't entirely happy. He said it's nothing to do with my work and he really likes me, I'll get a good reference and I could come back in summer if I want.. But I won't. I think I'm just most annoyed that I didn't hand my notice In first! I had a few more problems with the assistant managers attitude again the last two days. Had to bite my tongue this morning but when this chat happened this afternoon I told him his assistant manager had a major attitude problem and spoke to me and others like ****. He agreed.. So I think I'll be saying that to his face before I leave  I'm 90% I'll find something better anyway About time. No point staying where you're not happy
Guest51810 11,261 Posted November 1, 2014 About time. No point staying where your not happy True but I'd rather have handed in my notice lol never mind! I think winter here would have been really miserable. I'm sure I'll find something else

Guest51810 11,261 Posted November 1, 2014 What about Cornwall or Devon where it's a milder climate? Maybe, I wish I could go back to herm lol. Although I'd be almost stranded on there in the winter. I was job hunting tonight so I'll keep looking the rest of next week. I really need a sleep, I can see what that girl means now with my eyes. Doubt that's going to happen since there's loads of fireworks going off!
