Guest Netty999panda
Hi I was told by my friend yesterday (and I really hope she's got it correct) that her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, who are (and again, I hope she's got her info. correct) CAT 4, have been assigned a CO. Has anyone else heard if the DIAC are processing CAT 4s? We're CAT 5, and, like many, had been assigned a CO prior to Sept 23rd and were 3 weeks away from receiving our Visa. To say we're upset by all of this is a slight under-estimation, but hopefully if they're processing the applications as quickly as it seems maybe things will start to look brighter soon (fingers crossed!). They're probably right if they applied June or earlier - they been processing cat 4 (CSL with no sponsorship) all along, loads of them have recently got c.o.'s - I think they're up to June now. The 23/09 statement said cat 4 would be mostly processed "within 12 months" as it is the last of the priority groups.

Guest VickyMel
Jamie Smith (on 9/10) on a different thread estimated some figures and it certainly looked as if both Priority 3 & 4 were being processed. Perhaps it is just a matter of dates being processed (Pr 2 sounds like June maybe 3 & 4 are April & Feb???). I imagine it will become clearer when there are enough people on the first page of this thread and visas start being awarded to them. http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/70325-what-would-you-say-minister-immigration-really-5.html#post594277 The Adelaide numbers are ranked like this, reflecting priority of processing, numbers are individual applications, not total people involved:

State nominated with CSL, Unallocated 27, Allocated 720, Total 747
Family sponsored CSL, 1130, 279, 1409
All other CSL, 6335, 4289, 10624

Yes she certainly is and she has very kindly agreed to do this thread not only to help out the 1-4 ers to let them know where they are but also to help out us 5'ers to give us some indication as to when ours might start to be processed.:wubclub:
cartertucker
cartertucker, if I remember correctly, you belong to Group 5, don't you? Hi, yes, sadly, I do belong to group 5..... However, as Cath has rightly said, I felt that a thread/timeline was needed for those in priority 1-4, as we (in group 5+) already have one, that Tasha is running....
