mcpound
Hi, we are due to make a short trip to Oz to validate our visa. Do i need to visit Australia House in London which is miles away to actually get the 175 visa in our passports before we leave?I was under the impression the visa validation is automatically linked to our passports and all we needed was a copy of the visa grant letter as proof. Is this wrong? Regards.X
Guest northernstar200
Hi there, you need to send off your passpeot to the embassy, to get the visa stamp in it, on there it stated the date that you have to have entered australia before, and also the date it expires which is 4 years later. The information should of been in the email that you got the visa grant in. Tracy xxx
Guest eurosyl
Indeed, there is no need to have the label actually in your passport to enter Australia. BUT... you do need the label in there to deal with some official authorities like Medicare, TRA and a few more. And even tho potential employers can enquire about PR status at DIAC, having a label in your passport makes interviews go smoother. Altho this may not apply to you on your validation trip yet. You can even walk into an Australian visa office onshore after arrival to get the label. As I understood most people from the UK send their passports to Australia House and have it returned with the label within days. Shaz36
Hi, I posted mine off on the Monday to Australia House in London by special delivery, included a special delivery prepaid envelope, and they were returned on the Friday of that week with the visa label in them.
