Guest MatandNic
Hi, We were in no special rush after submitting our 176 family sponsored in May. Having now been given CO and request for Meds and PCC, I'm getting worked up about what might happen next. Anyone else in a similar situation? Do you reckon we're close (meds to go off after 28th Oct.)? Mat
Shaz36
Hi Mat, I was a CSL May applicant, without family sponsorship, so in a category below you priority-wise, and after submitting my pcc's and meds, the meds had finalised within a day of being received at HOC, and then the next day my visa was granted! I think they're obviously focusing on the CSL applicants now, and if you're CO is Megan Bagshaw, expect a quick turnaround. You can validate it within the year, and then once you've done that, you dont need to move over for 5 years, so best to get it now what with all the uncertainty of CSL maybe being removed etc, and at least you've got it. Good luck, Shaz
Guest MatandNic
Hi and thanks. Looks like things can move fast once the meds are in. For me, this is the first time since submission that anything's been back in my control i.e. getting the meds and police checks done. Once I've done this then we're back into the hands of DIAC (and Australian politics). The 12 month validity of the medicals does bring things back into focus. We're very much thinking of validating and doing a recce next year. Then as you say we can spend the next four to five years actually doing the move. I want to get a job first and we need to see what the pros and cons are of selling up here or renting out. And there's also the kids schooling to consider, etc. Nic and I are definitely not in the rose tinted 'living the dream' camp. Looking at the forums I'm really surprised how many people think that Australia is some sort of utopian antidote the UK (and life here is a paradise to many parts of the world). Life is life but it's short so we want to give down under a good go. All good fun!

Shaz36
Shaz Shaz Not being funny but do not think it is right that we should be listing names of CO on any threads not sure what the mods think WJK Hi WJK, Perhaps you're right, I never actually thought it would be an issue, as I had heard her name mentioned on here before I was allocated a CO, so when I saw her name on my letter, I did a search on her and found a few threads saying how efficient she was. Was just passing on that compliment. I suppose they'll take it out if its considered inappropriate. I'm not really sure however what issue it causes, as they put their name on these letters anyway, so no secret in it. Cheers Shaz
