Guest english reject
Afternoon, Iam 45 in 2010 ( december ), I thought as long as you applied before your 45 birthday you had a chance ( and I mean chance changes pending ) for a Visa, the way things are at the moment I would be putting in for the visa that suits me the best at least you are in the que/system. Guest sassygal
Welcome to PIO, if you search on the tool bar above I am sure you will find what your looking for, there has been quite a few discussions lately of people flying out on reckies or holidays to look for employer sponsors due to the recent changes in the priority processing. Dont know anything other than that mate, best of luck with it and I am sure you will get loads of advice from this site
Guest JohnandLisa
Welcome. We sent our visa application on 10th Sept; 5 days before my hubby became 45. We had a few diversions along the way, as we didn't know the best, quick or easiest way for us. We went to see our agent in May and they were really good. However they told us we had to put the visa in before hubby was 45. We eventually went for a family visa. Perth metro is one of the areas we can't go on our visa, amongst some other metro areas. Perth was also an area we looked at and we could have put 2 visas in (double the money), to see if their government was interested in my hubbies CV. If the perth givernment showed interest then this would be a permanant visa, unlike state sponsorship, which is temporary. Maybe you could try this although risky waiting to see if your CV is desirable??? You can still go if you're 45 but it seems harder. You could try putting your CV on the job websites for Australia and writing to companies but that also depends on your type of job. You may have a job that is desirable to them, more than another type of job. Companies that hire you, need to prove that you have a skill, they can't employ an Australian for or have tried and not found the right person and you are. You could get yourself an agent? Don't give up hope, look at all your options and pursue your dream. PS. Have you children? What is your career? x

Chops1963
Hi There I`m 46 years old and came out to Oz at the beginning of August to stay with my then girlfriend with the intention of applying for a De Facto visa. Unfortunately i got dumped and decided to send my CV out to some agencies and do some networking. I`ve had phone interviews, networking meetings and just had a phone interview this morning that sounds very promising.... they want to know if i could star by Xmas lol. They have their own migrant agent, but it would be sensible to consult one yourself.Use this forum for recommendations... But be warned , i contacted someone who was recommended, made contact and am still waiting for the details that he said he would send. I have networked people through Linked, they have sections on working in Australia that you can join and put some 'feelers' out, and found that to be very beneficial. Think that a targeted approach can be good, people are helpful, and if they can`t offer you work they might know someone who wil.Have also just missed on some role that weren`t advertised, but they have asked me to keep in touch as they have said they should have somethig available in the next few months. Don't give up, i nearly did about a month ago but my life might be on the pint of changing around as we speak. I`ve looked at 100`s of companies/agencies etc and lost count of how many specualtive approaches i`ve made. Hope this might help, get in touch if i can be of further assistance Andy:daydreaming:
