Guest proud2beaussie Posted September 23, 2009 It came through N/E Victoria on Monday night,I washed my car during the day on Monday and yesterday morning woke to find it covered in red dust,- NOT HAPPY ! there have been dust storms before especially during long droughts but this is a very bad one, anyone who has asthma should probably stay inside till it clears. Lynandsean 461 Posted September 23, 2009 Am on the western fringe of the Gold Coast and in the last hour it has really moved in and is getting grottier by the minute. Was outside for a while and my throat started to feel a bit dry and croaky. Most of the tradies around seem to be packing up for the day (live on a new development). Pretty windy with strong gusts too - lamp post across the street is swaying away  Lyn
calNgary 9,346 Posted September 23, 2009 Its not too orange around here ,more like a thick fog, the sky looks abit like it does before a bad storm and its sooo windy Cal x If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. NigelWaring 472 Posted September 23, 2009 ... I washed my car during the day on Monday ... So now we know the cause:biggrin:. I've been through a few dust storms at the top of WA but never seen anything as weird as this. It was also totally unexpected because we don't have the 100% accurate forecasts that you have in UK. calNgary 9,346 Posted September 23, 2009 The Qld goverment have just announced that water restrictions will be lifted to give everyone a chance to wash down houses and cars after the dust. Her is a link to a photo gallery of Brisbane and its surronds today during the storm.(seems weird saying storm when there was no rain, lol) Dust storms hit Queensland | The Courier-Mail Cal x If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it.
