n111kkx 520 Posted August 19, 2009 My husband was given a 6 month driving ban about 5 years ago due to the totting up system. Would he need to declare this on his visa application (176) No custodial sentence at all and no points on licence since? SS Vic recieved after appeal 8/10/2009, 176 Visa application 9/10/09, OH Electrician, Nov 2010 moved to Cat 2, 9th Nov Case Officer, extra information requested, medicals 18th Jan, medicals finalised now just the police checks!!! We got our visa !!! Yey soooo happy
Guest KatyNick Posted August 19, 2009 This is spooky ....!! I just e-mailed my agent last night regarding my husband having speeding points on his licence (only 3), she got back to me this morning! She said that we need to declare this 'conviction' on the Visa application form - it won't stop us getting the Visa - but we must inform DIAC. Hope this helps. n111kkx 520 Posted August 19, 2009 thank you, I did think about putting it on anyway as all information has to be better than less and dont want them to think we are keeping anything from them Thank you SS Vic recieved after appeal 8/10/2009, 176 Visa application 9/10/09, OH Electrician, Nov 2010 moved to Cat 2, 9th Nov Case Officer, extra information requested, medicals 18th Jan, medicals finalised now just the police checks!!! Guest The Birmingham Villains Posted August 19, 2009 Hi N111kkx, if you have no other conviction, your police check will show the Driving Ban as a conviction so it is best to be honest. I had DD back in the eighties and put it on the application. My check came back as No Live Trace. This means you have had a conviction but it has been stepped down. I had no other criminal record. We still got in Regards Kev
