eggcatcher
Heres one for all you dilema solvers. If I get to a certian state, say Victoria, and registered with the tax people, started looking for work and all the rest of it. Then after a week or two decided to move on to Queensland or NSW due to no work offers or can't settle or whatever, would we have to re register with the tax in the new state, and are there any other complications that would rear their heads. It's a thing thats been at the back of my mind for a while, if anyone has the answers, then let me know, all replys and views welcome.

Guest guest30038
Eyup Preston lad, Blackpool lad 'ere and ex-resident of Fulwood (s*it 'ole) :biglaugh: No, your tax is Federal and your tax file number remains the same wherever you move in Oz. Moving interstate though could affect your visa depending on what visa you have. You would have to register your vehicle though, in the state you moved to. You would also have to notify your insurers because premiums are weighted to different states. kev
eggcatcher
I used to play Rugby league and union in Fulwood, never took to the area myself but its handy for the hospital. thanks for the post, we are being forced to apply for perth on a state sponsored visa. However, we would rather be in the east so when the visa comes through we'll use it as a bit of a break in the journey then move on. According to my migration agent, it's just a moral obligation to stay in WA and wont affect the visa as it's a permanent Visa and DIAC cant take it away if you cant find work, alledgedly. I bet you miss Blackpool dont you.
