Please take a minute to click on the link and take a look at the new suspect sketches, Maddie has been missing way to long now,,,,

Madeleine McCann suspect holds clue in Australia link | The Courier-Mail

Just to add,

Maddie would probably be in Prep if she attends school here,i find it very scarey and upsetting that she will remember very little if anything of her old life. My daughter is a similar age and only remembers the things and people from the Uk that we always talk about.

Thanks

Yes, I too have a little girl of a similar age to Madeleine. I wept when that little girl was taken and every morning the first thing I would do was log in to BBC News to see if she had been found. I still log in to BBC News hoping to see that as a headline, it's extremely sad.

What is unbelievable is that this new lead has only just come to light because the guy who had the information just a couple of days after Madeleine's abduction didn't want to talk to police in case "his wife thought he was chatting up a posh lookalike". Unbelievable!

There have been so many false leads in this case, we can only hope that this lead is true. Anything that results in Madeleine being alive AND not being held by some perverts would surely be a result.

Update - Madeleine McCann woman found

(lets hope this isn't a false alarm or hoax)

AN Australian woman believed to hold vital clues to the disappearance of missing British child Madeleine McCann may have been found.

NSW police said they had received information about a woman who is similar in description to a Australian being sought by private investigators examining the disappearance of Madeleine, a NSW police spokesman said today.

The woman reportedly spoke to a Brit outside a bar in Barcelona, Spain, three days after the four-year-old girl went missing from her family's rented holiday apartment in the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007.

"On Friday afternoon, a Sydney woman provided a formal statement to detectives at a Sydney police station,'' a NSW police spokesman said.

"She claims to know the identity of the woman, being sought by the private investigators attached to the McCann family.

"NSW police force will forward the information received to the Australian Federal Police (AFP) for follow up.''

The supposed link is tenuous in the extreme. The person had a woman ask about her 'new daughter'. She could have been Aussie or maybe NZ. And he has only come forward 2 years later? This link will go the way of all the others and will be a dead end.

If I was being cynical I would think these private detectives are milking it for all its worth and every once and a while coming up with a supposed new lead to keep things ticking over.

Your probably right Mick but for Maddies sake lets hope not.

I think the reason it took the guy 2 years to come forwards was he was ''playing the field'' behind his partners back and they have now split so i guess he feels he as nothing to hide. Not sure i personally could have sat on info like that for sooo long though.

I hope that she is still alive but realistically I think there is also a fairly high chance she isn't,it would be fantastic for her to be found and I guess her parents will never give up hope but after this amount of time I can't see her returning.

Back in Adelaide in the 1960's there was a very famous case of children by the name of Beaumont who went missing from Glenelg beach, they have never been seen to this day.

I remember being on hol at the time and feeling really sad that someone would take a young child, and she has the same b'day as me. I hope that she is found and she is with a woman who was just desperate for a child and not some wierdo....... however, in realistic terms that there have been many sightings in oz and other places, how many little blonde girls age 6 would there be? At a glimpse they may well look like Maddie. I sure hope that the parents will continue to look for her, as it is down to them that she dissapeared.

Moral to this sad story, never leave your kids unattended esp to go out eating and drinking, i don't.
