ACS Processing - How patient should I be?

Hello - I'm hoping someone can chill me out a bit. My skills assessment has been with the ACS a while. They recently asked for my references (which my agent accidentally forgot to include - they were going through a huge upheaval at the time), so they were sent on 22 April. They should have arrived late last week right? My status still says "awaiting documents". I know they are not great at updating the website and I don't want to annoy them or make things take longer by checking up. From the point of payment this week is week 10. And they do clearly say - allow 12 weeks, and it may take longer if there are delays with additional paperwork.

I just need someone to say - RELAX, it'll say with assessor soon and then you've only got around another week to wait (or so). And reading message above I should relax.

It's just that everything depends on it and I'm so desperate for it to be successful.

Good luck, ours changed to in process first and then with assessor- it took about 12/13 weeks in all as I recall.

Thanks Julie.

I don't have a MODL, but I just found out it's listed on the WAOIDL, going for 176 visa. My half-brother in Perth has completed the sponsorship docs. We're going to lodge with the familly sponsorship and apply for state sponsorship at the same time. So we don't waist any time waiting for the State sponsorship to come through before we lodge. Well that's the plan. Gotta get passed the skills assessment first!

Where abouts are you off to?

Yay - I've checked the status (after days for serious restraint) and it's changed to With Assessor and I have a registered post number too. Now I'm just keeping everything crossed it comes back positive!

Not to worry you too much, but that's where the process went wrong for me. I waited the advised time, and then another week and there was no sign of the letter. In fact it still hasn't turned up after they posted it on the 17th of June.

I had to arrange to have UPS pick up a copy. The ACS were good about this, thankfully, after an email explaining the problem.

So do be patient, but after it says you have your response, don't wait for it forever, the registered post doesn't seem to be that reliable.

Yea, same for me, my result letter never arrived. And when I wanted a copy of it, I had to wait a full 21 days before I could request it. But I did receive it the 2nd time.

Cheers,

Sylvia

Yes indeed. Just about to go over my answers now. Agent is off sick at the moment so I doubt she'll be back at work till Monday.

When are you off or have you already escaped the UK?
