Guest sleeperaus
Hi, Just about to submit my online application for 176 visa. I know once you submit, you have 28days to attach documents to your application and these documents are given in a checklist (which is provided once you submit). Because of this I would like to see the checklist before I submit, that way if I see any problem documents (that might take a bit longer to get hold of I can sort those out beforehand without being in a rush) I've found the written application version of the checklist, but would still like to get hold of the online version as the written one probably has a number of things that I won't need to complete as the online already covers it (ie. forms, etc.) spoken to immi people and they said they can't give me it (or a link to it), but pointed me to the written one. Could somebody who's recently online submitted post the contents of the checklist so as I can see what I'll need. (Please don't give me a link to the written one as I already have that). Cheers. Guest sleeperaus
Hi, Thanks for replying to this. Exactly what I wanted. Jules2 : fyi. I spoke to immigration people on phone, they said if you need more time you just need to get in contact with them and they'll extend the date (sounded like it was a formality to do this so I wouldn't panic too much). They also said for the medical checks and police check, they advised waiting until your case officer requests you get them (as they're only valid for a year from issue). Thanks everyone. Guest rupani
Hi, Please anyone correct me if I am wrong. CO will be assigned once the DIAC receives the signed form 1100 (approval from state for the sposorship) and the SS takes some where 2-3 months (depending on the state selected) and documents can be submitted/attached any time before the CO is assigned hence applicant has the more than enough time to attached all the required documents. regards
Guest Jules2
Hi Rupani That does seem logical, but if you already have State Sponsorship when you apply for the VISA you don't have the 2-3 months? We applied for the SS before applying for the Visa, hence why the panic, but I will contact them just to advise of the situation with our missing birth certificates. Thanks Jules

Since there is a birth date stated in our Passport, can the passport alone serve as the evidence of age? If so, I would not need to attach the birth cert am I right? Looking forward to hear from you again. Cheers! ching
Guest VickyMel
As I understand it the 28 days is an automatic number DIAC uses and can be extended. I think they use it so that when they come round to looking at your application (remembering that some move very fast) that their is a greater likelihood everything is ready for them to look at. I think I saw reference to something that suggested that if it wasn't there after 28 days DIAC had the potential to reject the application - but that there was no problem in extending the 28 days. Our DIAC application is still open for us to attach further documents after the 28 days and we have done so as not all our DeFacto evidence was with us at the end of the 28 days. I think that you can also email further attachments if necessary. I may need some advice here, regarding evidence of age. Since there is a birth date stated in our Passport, can the passport alone serve as the evidence of age? If so, I would not need to attach the birth cert am I right? ching With regard to other evidence of age and not having birth certificates I would double check whether the bio-page is acceptable as proof of age? There was a application guide on the DIAC website which may help you - or I am sure someone will be able to advise. I have added a few other odds and ends that may be requested Some applications may also request you to attach IELTS qualification if it is needed re your occupation or country. Or proof of English language. Evidence of DeFacto status Evidence of State Nomination Evidence of Name Change if divorced If there is a child who is not the child of both migrating parents - there will be other requirements, but this is a separate thread on its own and there are lots on this topic. Guest chappers79
Hi, I applied for my 175 visa online on 13/10/2009 and have been adding documents to the application past the 28 day guideline with no problem. Unless you think you will get a case officer very quickly I wouldn't panic about the 28 day limit too much.
