Hi there,

Just wanted to let people know about our timeline for the de facto visa as we have been checking this website a lot for reassurance!

DOL: 8/06/19 - front loaded with everything included: medical, police checks, all evidence etc

Approved: 5/2/20

We heard nothing between those two dates. We applied from London, but my partner has been in Australia on a working holiday visa since September. The visa application can still be processed while you are in the country, just as an FYI. This was something that we weren't sure about!

Best of luck to everyone!

Hi Mate

Hi mate,

congrats to you......

What visa did you apply for that was approved while the sponsor was onshore .

i was told it is only sub 820 can be applied and processed while the applicant is onshore.

Hi everyone,

I have mentioned about my husband’s application here before, I think im the only one from 2017 lodgement that hasn’t been granted visa yet. So i’ve recently visited my husband and I’m pregnant now Alhamdolilah so my question is how do I inform immigration? Do i just email them my “positive” test results or a get a formal letter from my doctor?

Send the department of immigration a letter stating your pregnant and also test results to prove your pregnancy. Also you said you have been waiting for over 2 years for your husbands  309 visa. Do you know why the long delay as most 309 visas as processed in less than 2 years. Have you complained to the department or talked to a lawyer?
