I was sponsored for PR after 18 months, some companies do it earlier, some dont.

My PR took 6 months but 4 of that was waiting for a hospital appt as I have epilepsy.

Good Luck xxx

Glad it is all giong well!

Sorry to completly go off topic but Jo I'm interested to hear what extra medical stuff you had to do for epilepsy? I have epilepsy, had brain surgery also and am going to apply for my Spouse Visa 309/100 soon. I know my medicals will be refered but was wondering if they will make me have more medical investigations etc.

ohhh thank you. I have neuro pshycological reports I can give them done pre and post surgery. I was concerned they would want me to have bigger tests such as MMR etc which I assume would be very expensive.

Hi Shel

I am not a doctor or a nurse so I know nothing about epilepsy apart from reading Wiki.

However I can tell you for sure that the relevant Public Interest Criterion for a Spouse visa is PIC 4007, not PIC 4005.

With PIC 4007 a waiver of the strict health requirement for migration is possible. Which makes an immense difference in a situation like yours.

They might well ask for additional specialist information but the chances are high that your visa will be granted without difficulty.

Cheers

Gill

I am well controlled since the op, still on meds but only have infrequent nocturnal seizeures, which are partial complex so hardley effect me at all, can still get up and go to work etc.
