Guest northernstar200
I just thought i would update my medical and xrays worries. I went for repeat xrays today, to be told that they still were worrying, and that the radiologist cannot rule out the big C, and so i have now been reffered for a CT scan, and i have to see a chest doc also. It doesn't rain but it pours! The most annoying thing is, i am healthy, no symptoms at all, i don't do chest infections, never had anything (well as long as i can remember) wrong with my chest. My GP, did say he didn't think it was cancer, but they still have to check it out, so i reckon which ever way i look at it i am going to have to wait longer to hand in all my documentation. I know that compared to my health going to Oz shouldn't be a priority but i am so gutted that i am now going to miss my deadline of the 14th of august. I will just have to wait and hope. Guest the owens
hi ya tracey had the same problem had to see chest specialist etc everything turned out ok, specialist told me x rays can be inaccurate as it was in my case, it showed an enlarged heart when in fact there is no problem, it is only natural to fear the worst as i did so i hope this has lifted the worry a little. good luck. Things will all fall into place soon enough - you'll see! We've all hit a brick wall along the way at some stage, only for you, it's been extra worrying in that it involves health issues and question marks! Hopefully you'll have your CT scan out of the way soon and the results will reflect the true state of your health, based on how you're feeling yourself. You poor thing - I just hate setbacks!!!! Please, please let us know how you get on. We'll all be thinking of you and awaiting good news! Hang in there.
l1sa
This is a mirror image of exactly what happened to us! 2 weeks after our medical we had a callback on OH xray, had a repeat xray, there was an area of concern on the xray, but the pannel doc sent off all the meds anyway, pointing out the area of concern. So we prepared ourselves for months of more waiting. 2 weeks after the meds were sent off the other 3 meds were finalised, still waiting... another week after that totally out of the blue, sitting there in my inbox was our grant letter!! The Ozzie doctors had obviously looked at it and decided it was nothing and passed it. And this week he had his follow up appointment with a chest specialist who gave him the all clear and told him it was old scaring. So don't be down!! You still may be on track! Feel free to PM me anytime, if you need anymore info! Good Luck Lisa x
Guest Magnetic6
Hi Tracy, Try not to worry too much, i know it's hard not to! Take comfort from all the above posts as it seems like lots of people have had a similar experience; somethings been found on the medical and then it amounts to nothing but caused you loads of stress! Natalie x

Dawny
Im sure all will be fine, and they are just being extra cautious, A friend of mine who recently had chest x rays also had a shadow mass! And was told by her gp, that some shadows show scaring from asthma and even whooping cough as a child and from on going chest infections as was nothing to worry about, she had further tests and all was well! Hope this helps a little x
Guest northernstar200
Hi there, decided to forget about it for a couple of hours, and have just decided to come on now. Thanks for all over your replies, and deep down i know, well i think i know there is nothing wrong with me, but all these tests do seem a little daunting. Even though i work in a place where people are having these sorts of tests all the time, it's totally different when its yourself. Will send my next post with good news hopefully. Thanks again, for all your nice words and good luck wishes, and also thanks for my hug, lol, its just what i needed. Tracy xxx

Guest guest17301
Hopefully they will get your CT done quickly. You will know as a nurse that x rays are not particularly reliable diagnostic tools so am sure all will be well. Thinking of you. x

No it was nothing to do with TB, more to do with the naughty boys years of smoking!!! But if something good has come out of all this, he has given up!! Which I am thrilled about! Guest northernstar200
After a lot of stress, a broncoscopy, a ct scan, i have been told today that i have not got anything sinister and that my chest is clear. Which is really good news, so now can get on with our plan to move to oz. Again thanks to all the kind words, i knew things would probably be ok, but there is always that little tiny bit of doubt.
