Queensland State Sponsor 176 Visa - Application Timelines

Everyone who wishes to add their details to the QLD SS queue can do so by adding the details of their application to the last page. I will then take this information and place it on this first page in date order, from when QLD received your application, so you can easily see who is next in line for their application to be looked at by QLD! The list of everyone is kept on the first page at all times so that it is easy to find and track.

175 applied jan queensland ss forms sent early feb (and Scanned) received ss confirmation(via email) 11 days later , co march changed back to 175 and visa approved this week

Dont know if you've seen it yet but this is a thread George Lombard started on BE about Qsld SS..

 

Jacob Reinders, Manager, Migration and Skills Recruitment Qld, Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation today advised:

 

" all applications should be acknowledged and a file number provided by the end of April 2009. Processing of skilled nomination applications are currently estimated to be

 

- 8 to 10 weeks for off shore 176 and 475 applications

- in excess of 4 months for on shore 886 and 487 applications.

 

Further, amendments were also made to 886 and 487 visa nomination requirements effective from 17 April 2009. Details can be found on our website file://www.workliveplay.qld.gov.au/. The amendment can be directly accessed on http://www.workliveplay.qld.gov.au/d...t.cfm?id=12734

 

There has been no change in policy regarding applicants needing to live and work in Queensland. Agents will be aware, applicants have always been required to sign a declaration that they will do so.

 

In order to process an application, the Queensland Government assessment officer must be satisfied that nomination applicants will abide by this commitment. All applicants are therefore required to provide evidence to support their commitment, ie:

•

o a current job or firm job offer in Queensland; and

o details of a current residence or evidence of arrangements to establish a residence in Queensland.

 

The evidence required is detailed in the letter emailed to applicants and Migration Agents, and must be provided within 6 weeks of the date of a recent emailed letter. The application will be assessed on the basis of the evidence provided within that timeframe. "
