Guest Guruju
Hi Jules I am a bit confused now - I have been so busy I have not kept up to date with this thread, did you decided where we were meeting on 21st? If you are coming and have not already done so, you need to click on the "events and meetings" tab at the top of the screen and RSVP to this event. Guest
Ok girlies, I spoke to Chutney Mary's today and they wanted the food choices pre-ordered!! Quite frankly I couldn't handle that so I agreed to the party buffet which is $45 a head, it's a mix of meat, fish and vege dishes so hopefully everyone is okay with that. Local friends have confirmed it's a great place and they have been so lovely - the restaurant manager is a pom (& on this forum!!!) unfortunately she's off on Thurday. Can't wait to meet you all. Guest Guruju
Hi Jules As long as they make sure there's a veggie dish or two or me I'll be happy and as long as none of non veggos get to them before I do.... What do you get for $45 - drinks, sweets??? Just a main? Cheers J

What do you get for $45 - drinks, sweets??? Just a main? Cheers J It is just the main, I think you can upgrade and get desert & tea/coffee for $55 but I guess some people would want to and others not - i don't find desserts in Indians usually very inspiring. I'm a vege too (or vego as I'm now called!) - if I was a bit more organised we could have done a head count to get the right proportions, I've got to say normally there is so much food at an Indian that there will be loads of everything left. I did say that there was a vegan too but I'm not sure they had a clear understanding because they said the paneer would be okay because there was no animal rennet! I guess you're used to that though. Jules Totally in agreement with you re desserts and you are correct I do get some strange responses to the vegan aspect. However, there are usually enough vegetable options in Indian cuisine, so I am not worried really, it was all said tongue in cheek re the non vegos... Looking forward to meeting you all tomorrow. Might make it easier for Chutneys to grasp? What do you think Jules? Regards Julia
Guest Guruju
Just a quick note to thank Jules for organising the night out at Chutney Mary's in Subi and thinks to all that turned up despite the weather! Siblin!
Had a lovely time , hope it all turned out OK with the billing at the end ............Jules how did it finally get resolved? .....I felt very guilty leaving you there , but Janette's husband was waiting for us , i don't know what happened or how it happened , next time i think we should each have our own bills .......maybe it was an oversight on their part . Once again , sorry for leaving you in the lurch like that . I hope we all get together again soon and this won't hinder that , as we all seemed to enjoy ourselves ...............Anyone for cricket

I hope we all get together again soon and this won't hinder that , as we all seemed to enjoy ourselves ...............Anyone for cricket  Hi Siblin It was a great night up to the point of the misunderstanding on the bills.... It appears that there were actually 2 bills, one for each table, but we all only saw the first bill so, possibly, some people misunderstood the amount they needed to chip in. We were nearly $270 short but I chipped in an extra $70 (bit disappointing as I was a designated driver and didn't get to drink any alcohol) and everyone else put a bit more in (although quite a few had left before that point of realization that there were 2 bills adding up to over $1000 instead of just one bill of $600 odd). In the future I would suggest its BYO or we have a set drinks package $ per head which includes wine, beer and soft drinks. Cheers Julia
Siblin!
Yes, i know i was there at that point ......i still don't quite understand how it happened , as i kept a log of what i had drunk , only two drinks , so my bill came to $68 , i paid $70. Janette didn't dtink , she paid $ 50 , Susie and co ( sorry girls forgot our names ) , by all accounts only drank water , and the paid £ 50 each , plus Ali paid $50 and didn't drink , so all in all , they were the girls which left early ; they actually paid over , so how does that equate ? It seems to me like the have billed us too much ............. It was unfair that others had to chip in more . On a personal note , although a great night , meeting everyone, it was well over priced and the food wasn't that great really . Good bunch of girls though and would love to meet you all again x
Guest Susie
Hi there Had a great time last night - was lovely meeting everyone. Just read about the 2 bills instead of one and as we were one of the first to leave, I feel really bad. The time just flew by and before I knew it the ticket I'd paid for in the car park had run out. There were 3 of us, Yvonne, Sharon and myself. We put in $55 each for buffet plus one $9.50 glass of wine each (bit stingy on the tip front admittedly!). Please let me know if we owe you money and we'll get it to you!! Would be great to do it again some time as I felt I had loads more to hear from likeminded people. Thanks Jules for organising it. Guest prettyinpink
Thanks to Jules for the evening, I'm sorry we had to dash but I'd already phoned Dunc to pick us up before the whole bill issues cropped up, and he was waiting outside for us. I'm not sure what had happened with the bill, it seemed an awful lot for just 2 tables. Had they overcharged? Perhaps next time, if there is a set price per head maybe we pay up front. Then all that needs settling at the end of the evening is drinks. Just a suggestion. But regardless of that, it was lovely to see so many of us girls there. So nice to meet and chat to you all, it was great to hear from so many 'experienced ladies' and especially enjoyed the doggie chats with Julia and Sharon. I'm deffo up for the next one, I especially like the idea of the casino / limo / stay the night. After all, poor Sharon is desperate for her first Perth hangover, we can't disappoint her . All eyes on you now Jo, as our nominated organiser!! Thank you again Jules, I was knackered at work but it was well worth it!! Janette x

Will definatley have to have seperate bills next time. Talking of next time, Christmas in July anyone or is that too far off?? Hi LondonGal I don't think it should be harped on too much because it distorts what a good time we all had. However, I do think its worth discussion or trying to understand it because we want to continue the nights out in the future and so maybe need to see what can be learned from it. I think part of the problem was that the restaurant did not allow for separate billing or paying for drinks individually as you go along. I know because I asked at the start of the evening. Jules has a copy of both bills so she may be able to shed more light on the subject but I think we ended up paying for 18 people even though there was only 17 of us because the buffet offer in done on the basis of 4 people per serve, so we would have paid for that 18th person. We had 14 of the meat buffets at $45 each so $630, 4 vego ones at $40 each so $160 there; a grand total of $790 for the food - the rest was drinks $259 (around $1049 minus $790). If we had just averaged the drinks pp it would have been $16 each for each of the 17 people there. So maybe just dividing the drinks equally would have saved a bit of pain not to mention the time standing there ttrying to make any sense out of it with the restaurant staff. I am still confused by it all so hopefully Jules may have the answers in the receipts she has at hand? Still loved it though. Hey and the Rockingham/Baldivis/Canningvale crew were looking at going ten pin bowling in Rocky at some stage too (all welcome if they're keen to travel down to see us!!). Also a few doggie day dates and training sessions were being negotiated for the future. Wait till I have met with Cesar Milan at Burswood on 7 June first though:biggrin: Cheers Julia
