OMG, this post really took off & I've had some PM's as well - I didn't even realise I'd been off-line.

For me a night out is what I really want/need - one of the difficulties I'm having making friends is that I work regular hours full-time & so many of the opportuities to meet other women are during the day. And of course after work socialising is out 'cos I'm rushing home to the little 'un!

I am more than happy for someone to pick up the baton on organising a lunch in Swan Valley alongside this though.

City West sounds like a great suggestion, does anyone know any good venues????

I'll put 21st May, City West in the calendar & promise to PM you all my email/mobile number before the night!

Okay girlies, all this family time is great but what I really need is a proper girls night out so who's up for it?

I suggest we go for somewhere in the CBD so it's accessible for all NOR/SOR and maybe a Thursday night to avoid the weekend madness (not convinced it is anything like as bad as UK cities but just in case...)

I'll put a stake in the ground and say 21st May, anyone have any suggestions on where to go? Nowhere too trendy please I'm way past all that :biglaugh:

If you're interested please post & I'll PM you my details.

Jules

Hi Jules

Sorry for jumping in a bit late - I work in the City and like you work 8-5 so don't get the chance to meet anyone, and I don't want to become too friendly with the girls I work with as I am their manager and they are all younger than me (early 20's).

Can i come to this evening too - I can just stay at work and get changed and then meet up - I will then get the train to Warnbro if anyone wants to get it with me.

I think it is just what the doctor ordered!

Let me know

Thanks

Sharon

I'm sure everyone is most welcome - the more the merrier!! I am happy to do nite out and high tea if they become 2 separate things. Although if I decide to move home soon, I hope I will still be allowed to come....

Ive eaten here and it was my fave curry house, it was lovely .... hot but lovely  We tried a couple of the 'Mary' places prior to finding this place as we love a good curry (Marys was very disappointing esp the one on Hay St, the Subi one is much better)

Oh an idea, why not go to Marys in Subi and then pop over to the Larma bar for cocktails? It is a little trendy but the cocktails are fantastic! This bar is one of the reasons i want to live in subi :notworthy:

Have fun and have a couple of cocktails for me

Hi Fiona

West Perth where most of the restaurants are at, generally at the west end of Hay Street near Kings Park, Princess Margaret Hospital area and not that far from Subiaco.

The CAT bus goes there.

I think it is that glass domed building, on the right (coming from north), on the way into the city. Is this right? I thought it was some science-discovery centre place, didn't realise it had restaurants??

Hi Susie you are correct and there are no restaurants there that I am aware of. Hence why I thought it may be West Perth instead? Regards Julia

Hi Susie

I'll leave it to the original OP, Jules, to have the final say on venue and confirming things - I was only making a suggestion.

Over to you Jules......

Cheers

Is a latecomer allowed to join proceedings. I am in dire need of a girls night out.

Anytime, anywhere LOL. I'm SOR so the curry and drinks in Subi sound great.

PS Went to see the dogs yesterday. They seemed well happy so I have decided to stop worrying over them so much.

Girls,

Sorry I'm back at work now after the wonderful Easter hols so finding it hard to get on-lin. Just had a quick read through all the posts and a curry sounds great - not actually had one since we landed!

It'll probably be Friday before I have time to take a closer look but get it in your diaries, it will happen & I will reply to everyone I promise!

Hi Jules

The choice seems to be between Chutney Marys in Subi or Royal India in West Perth. Let us know which one you would like to go to....see you there.

Cheers

Julia
