Hi  I would like some info on the 600 holiday visa, if anyone can help. My daughter's husband is 8 months into applying for the Partner visa 309/100 and they want to come onshore before grant. Could the 600 visa override the Partner visa if the 309/100 was granted before it?

If he applied outside Australia he will have to leave for it to be granted. I came on an e visitor visa, received an email to say I have to leave so it can be granted.

No nothing yet, it's been over 2 months since they signed for it... My sons friend was told there's a 6/8 week delay but now it's over 2 months she's gonna call the Spanish ministry of justice again see if they can give her any more info... If this was holding the grant up I'd be so pissed off but since they couldn't grant anyway it's not bothered me to much. Would be nice to have it in my hand tho!!! Lol

Yeah. There's always something isn't there? I wanted to get my shipment off so I wouldn't have to wait so long once I was in Aus but they won't ship without a visa which is a pain but never mind. So instead it's heading out on March 30th and I'll just hope it all arrives within the 3 months!

26 days to go and I haven't packed a case yet. I'll end up doing it a few days before!

So that's it....my partner left yesterday for his head start at our new life in Oz!! He is currently on the plane now as I type. Really hoping to see a flurry of visas being granted again soon. Was keeping fingers crossed I was going to be one of the lucky 7 months ones instead of 12/14 months. C'mon visas.....sending granting vibes in the hope I will start seeing the good news of the people waiting getting theirs real soon. [emoji5]

How long have you go overseas for? I was hoping to go for just 3 days which I thought would be enough but my CO advised me to go for 5 days.

Ive been following this forum since August and there appears to be no consistency in time from medical and police checks in to visa. Sometimes two months, someone was two days once I think, and some that just go on forever and ever. Feels torturous at the moment as our police and health went in six weeks ago and I wish there was an average to help my brain from going crazy sometimes!

Hi guys. I finally got my visa grant today. I applied on 24 June 15 so just over 8 months wait, a lot sooner than I expected! My girlfriend and I are on holiday in Dublin at the moment so I guess the luck of the Irish was definitely with us. Now time to drink loads of Guinness and celebrate then back to getting everything sorted for the big move on Monday :wink:

No, there is no correlation between meds/pcc and grant date. Some people do their meds when they first apply, they still have to wait months for the grant, same as everyone else.

It does appear though that some people are being asked to do them on or after a certain date, whilst others are not. I received a letter from a case officer about three months after submitting the application and the letter had instructions attached on how to arrange the medical and how to obtain the police check certificate. It didn't specifically say to get them done, but I read it as being implied as the instructions were attached. Given there is a time limit (12 months I think) on their validity, and advice on the immi site not to start the checks until told to do so, it's odd that there are such differences in time from instruction to complete them, and issuing of the visa.

It's just that mine were requested. I had 28 days to complete them. I just wondered whether the fact that they were requested meant that they will be dealing with my case which means hopefully i could hear some news soon?

So glad to finally be able to join the 'submitted 309 applications' group! Applied and attached all evidence 7th March....let the waiting begin! Haven't completed medical or police check as aware that they're only valid for 1 year and do not want to have to pay twice if it takes the full 14 months for visa grant....fingers crossed it doesn't!

That's great news Tracy, bet yr so happy to finally be getting it tomorrow..... I had some good news today, my son's friend called Spain & was told it's being processed & I should receive it in about 10 days. Unsure if that's 10 working days but it felt real good to hear it's being processed:) I'm gonna be soon happy when it finally arrives, like u say the last bit of the puzzle!!! Lol

Our Visa reached the 8 month mark Yesterday.

 

Applied 10th of July, medicals, police & case officer granted 20th of October and completed by 11th of November. Just playing the waiting game now.

 

I have flights booked for the 22nd of April, fingers crossed my visa arrives before then!
