Nee 10 Posted September 9, 2015 Well i'm the sponsor and currently my partner and I are living in NZ (He is on a working visa, waiting for 309 to come through to go to Oz) we have updated our information to our CO before we left with new address and contact details etc, and our 12 month mark will be 11/12/15 and was wondering do I have to get a police check or anything from living in Australia & UK? Sorry for not really explaining myself.
Nee 10 Posted September 9, 2015 For all those out there, I just found this site and have to say it is absolutely amazing to see!! I am not the only one feeling all sorts of feelings! so HII everyone
Keep me in oz 17 Posted September 9, 2015 I would think that your case Officer would have asked you by now if they had needed anything else. You guys are pretty close to the average grant time When your partner logs into his immi account does it say approved next to your name? 820 applied for May 2014, visa declined March 2015, MRT remitted application back to Department March 2016, hoping to get 801 309 applied for June 2015, CO is KP assigned 13 August, visa ready to grant 4 February, Visa scheduled for grant 7 March and Granted 7 March 2016. The medical and police check being done so early on could well run out before the visa grant (only valid for a year) or leave your partner with a short timeframe within which to validate. Apart from that, just a case of sitting and waiting now really I guess if you are in NZ on a WHV your partner can easily nip over to Aus to validate or you both head there once its granted if you plan to move ASAP. Nee 10 Posted September 9, 2015 We did the application by paper, should we still have an Immi account?
Nee 10 Posted September 9, 2015 Thank you for that, we do plan to move to Aus as soon as it comes through Fingers crossed we hear back in December and be there for christmas, sucks waiting!!
Keep me in oz 17 Posted September 9, 2015 nah I think only online applications can look at it through the immi account. I think your CO would have been in touch by now if they had needed anything further. When you get your grant can you please let me know the time frame in which you have to validate? I too did my medicals early and am really keen to see how long your partner will have to enter Australia. 820 applied for May 2014, visa declined March 2015, MRT remitted application back to Department March 2016, hoping to get 801 309 applied for June 2015, CO is KP assigned 13 August, visa ready to grant 4 February, Visa scheduled for grant 7 March and Granted 7 March 2016. alansuspect 10 Posted September 9, 2015 Hi Alan, Who did you use to ship your items please? My agent recommended PSS, no idea who are good, any info would be great if possible. Still not sure how much either, Ive heard for a 20ft container, its like £3000, and the insurance is £1500, did you pay anythimg like this? Much appreciate it if you could reply to this. Thanks. Iceman7 Hi Iceman, definitely check out the shipping forum as there's lots of helpful info in there. We used Seven Seas, they're pretty popular and seem to have a good reputation. We wanted to do their 'movecube' but being on the IOM they use a 3rd party so we couldn't do it. Ended up shipping about 16 boxes of "stuff" for just under £600. Their online quote calculator is pretty good too. Keep me in oz 17 Posted September 9, 2015 There is talk of a 3 day period which people onshore must be offshore for, in order to get the visa validated, but Im not sure if that applies if you are already offshore. Eifster 10 Posted September 9, 2015 (edited) I still haven't received an email to say I've been assigned a CO and I've checked the correspondence and it only says "application has been received" has anyone else had to wait this long before being assigned a CO? I've been waiting 8 and a half months with no communication with a CO at all. It used to happen a lot over the last few years, and seems to be a sign that your application is all in order and they don't need anything from you, than there is something wrong. Or so people have told me. Did you front-load your application with the medical and the police check/s already completed? I did, so I won't be getting an email from a CO asking for them. I got nervous all the same, and sent a query about having a CO in last week ('everyone else has one') and got a generic crappy reply from a European Service Centre person just saying they'd get in touch if they needed anything and that my application was in process. My guess is that certain COs like to get in touch, and certain ones don't want you emailing them all the time so they don't let you know they're dealing with your files. But recently, there's only been me and one other person on this forum who didn't have a CO that got in touch. Thankfully there was one other person (who recently got their grant) or I'd be a ball of stress! A bigger ball of stress, I mean. Edited September 9, 2015 by Eifster PMV 300 lodged online:22Dec14. Wkdstyle 10 Posted September 9, 2015 I've been waiting 8 and a half months with no communication with a CO at all. I front-loaded the police checks but not the medical, I'll get in contact with the department and see what they say. It would just be nice to know they've actually started the process, having to wait 9-12 months is long enough. Offshore partner visa lodged 29/06/2015, waiting game begins... CO : V assigned 5/11/15. Medical completed 6/01/16 Visa ready to be granted : 1/03
