:biggrin:GREAT NEWS, our 309 was approved on Friday May 15!

(wife/applicant was away and hadn't checked her email until just now).

This is good news for everyone following this thread, it took almost 6 weeks.

We did send a VERY comprehensive application (I like to be over cautious with these things), so no additional info or phone interview was requested. I think it took so long cause we sent so much stuff... (the Special Delivery envelope with our application weighed 2kg!)

Just to remind you of our timeline:

3rd April 2009: Sent Application (Fully front Loaded wtih PCs and Meds)

6th April 2009: C/O Replied & Payment taken

7th May: Got impatient and Phoned CO to check if more info is required, no information given other than standard line "3-4months processing time due to backlog of applications".

15 May: email from CO stating that the 309 was approved.

I really hope this approval give us a just a bit of hope that they arent sticking to the standard "3-4months" processing time.

ALL The best to everyone, were in the country for 2 more weeks, any questions, post me and I will do my best to respond.

Steve

congratulations Steve!!

we are applying for spouse pr 100, do you think it will take longer than 309?

We were also very cautious with our app, we believe that they have all required info, we have been waiting almost one month now great news though, looks like we all have some chance of it taking more reasonable time now.

Hi Tommo66, I have no idea with the 100 visa... Worth doing a search on this forum, but one should assume that they would be a little more thouragh with those due to the permanancy of the 100...? Its really anyones quess, but looking at the recent posts, its definately looking more positive!

All the very best! And dont forget to update when you get the good news!

Steve

Hi all

Heres our timeline so far:

23/03/09 sent 309: (front loaded with meds, police checks and Form 80)

25/03/09: Received and payment taken:

26/03/09: CO contact requesting more evidence

16/04/09: Further evidence sent

17/04/09: CO requested clarification on one bit of the evidence

17/04/09: Response emailed

Since then nothing! I'm going to give them another week and then email to see if there's any news - the wait is driving me mad!

Got impatient yesterday and phoned C/O to see if there had been any update, was told that they had everything they needed from me and it was just internal process that needed completing. Was also told that applications were currently taking the full 12 weeks to go through.

No, don't think it made any difference, but will be interesting to see if you get the same kinda response I got, if you do decide to, let me know what they say.
