Recommended Posts

Guest dinner-dash

We moved over to qsd early february being told we could enrol our 17 year old daughter into local school to complete year 12...........after visiting school she wil not attend due to her being the eldest in her class. the school suggested she go to TAFE.

Now she has been informed she has missed the january intake and been told she cant attend until JULY !!!!!!!!!!!!

We are desperate for her to make friends...........if things dont turn around she will be back in the UK and not return until July, we cant face that, if she goes we all go.

Any advice please.

Hi Guys, We moved here to QLD in December 08, our son turned 17 in the Oct 08. The local school here did offer him a place but thought that it would not be good to attend school when missing the year 11 of the school, although he cld do if wanted too. They were also concerned abt him doing 11 & 12 and being fed up with school by yr 12 as being one of the eldest in his school year.

We enrolled him into TAFE and the course is yr 11 and 12 and they do this course in 6 months, probably why they said to you July.

It's a shame the TAFE will not enroll your daughter as I am sure she could catch up with work so far as they only started beginning of Feb, unless the course is full up now. Luke goes to Mooloolaba TAFE, whereabouts are you?

Good luck Kim

p.s. if your our way we could always introduce Luke to your daughter as after college they all go to the Mooloolaba beach on a Friday abt 1pm
