Guest halebob Posted February 20, 2009 Hi there, I am returning to the UK :arghh: in 7 weeks and have got a quote from Ocean Sky to ship a few items home. Just wanted to know if anyone has used them before and can tell me if they are good or bad. I'm a bit apprehensive as I've never heard of them and their quote was cheaper than everyone else by $200-$300. I'm just naturally suspicious.:unsure: Help. joetrac 217 Posted February 20, 2009 Hi We used them to ship from Brisbane to Uk in Nov ...they were not the cheapest but came across as the most professional. I was told if I paid a deposit of 10% in advance the shipment would be booked and the price would stay the same.I booked 8 weeks in advance and paid the payment in full. The day before the packers came I got a phone call from them saying because that because the australian dollar had taken a slump recently I had to pay another $1600 dollars:arghh: I explained that I was told the contract was fixed ...the guy who told me that had left ....and it was in the small(Very Small) print in my contract. I had no time to look elsewhere and had no choice but to pay it. They arrived on time and when my container arrived in the UK everything was intact.I just felt really ripped off and Im sure if the aussie dollar had got stronger they wouldn't have been calling me to give me some money back. This time last month I was ready and raring to go and April 13th couldn't come quick enough. Now I'm just trying to fit loads of stuff in before I go.
