Hi,

Can anyone help? we are doing a statutory declaration with a solicitor on monday morning, and have read the TRA guidelines for stat decs and it specifically mentions needing a third party to corroborate any statements made on the stat dec. Who can this be? can it be a friend?, or does it need to be someone who has witnessed you doing the task that you are stating?. I am a little confused. Can anyone who has used a stat dec for their TRA application, and had a successful outcome let me know what they did. I will be so gratefull.

Hi,

When i done my stat decs which were 3 from aussies and 3 from uk - with the uk ones all that happened was the person who was doing the stat dec took the declaration along to a solicitors and signed & dated it in front of the solicitor who witnessed the signature and then the solicitor signed and dated it and that was that job done.

Hope this helps

Just noticed this thread. i had the same question so e-mailed TRA and asked them, there reply is copied below.

The third party corroborative evidence can be things like copies of

payslips, letters of employment, statements from co-workers, tax

documents etc.
