Guest kutsu
I have applied for my visa 175 on the 31st December 08 under the ASCO code 2231-79 Computing professional NEC, I am a bit confused with regards to the new DIAC processing times and which category I fall under as the letter I received from ACS states the code of 2231-79 and nothing else, I am not entirely sure if Computing professional NEC is on the CSL or even MODL but if I do a search on Department of Immigration & Citizenship it tells me it is on the MODL but if I view the list it doesnt seem to be there, all I really need to know is where I am in the pecking order :err:
Guest juliemtaylor
Hi We have just had my OH skills assessment back from ACS with the same ASCO code but it clearly states Java after it to indicate the specialism he has been assessed and confirmed as. If you did not indicate the specialism on the ACS application I think what you have been assessed as is just a general computing code with no particular specialism and therefore not on the MODL list and therefore not on the CSL list which puts your application for 175 visa at the bottom of the DIAC processing pile I believe. We are using an Agent who specialises in IT, I would ask him re this, also on PIO, Peter Chiam PTLabs. Julie
Guest kutsu
Hmmm, I'm wondering is its worth changing my visa over to a 176 State sponsorship if thats at all possible? I dont mind waiting as I am not in a great rush to get over, I just dont want to be left waiting for them to process my visa after the rest for them to say they have changed thier minds and not give me the 175 visa. zamb
Think if your skill is not on the MODL (and now also the CSL list) you will just get a general 2231-79 classification. The "Java" etc keyword would indicate the MODL/CSL skill your assessment was match against.
Guest juliemtaylor
try having a look at these: State & Territory Migration Sites - australia.gov.au not sure if you will be on any as you don't have a specialism. Julie x
