Guest Ian&Lou
Hi, Please can you let us know where we can get the list of Doctors for our meds. We are hoping to pre-load our meds and obviously need to use one of the ones DIMIA are happy with, the only problem being we dont know where to get this info. Can anyone help? Many thanks Ian and Lou

Alan Collett
I tend to look at this webpage for the list of Panel Doctors in the UK and the forms 26 and 160: http://www.australia.org.uk/lhlh/health.html Best regards.
ali
Hi, It's important to remember that if you've front loaded meds and/or police checks then when your visa is granted you then normally have 12 months from the date of meds or pc's (whichever was done the earliest), to validate your visa. This may not be a problem, or may leave you with only a short time in which to validate your visa. It is sometimes better to wait for your acknowledgment which gives an indication of how long the wait for processing is - then to estimate when they may request medicals and have them done then. Alan Collett
That's a good point Ali, though we are seeing skilled visa applicants who lodged in mid to late November already being asked to provide medical examinations and police reports - methinks there is a push on to see a lot of skilled visa grants through the system before the end of this program year (30/06/2007). It is an election year after all ... :-) Best regards.
Guest Ian&Lou
Thanks for all your replies. We were thinking of pre-loading the meds a little while after our visa app is on it's way. We have a trip booked out there for September and really are hoping to be there this time next year, so hopefully having them in a month or so from now wont cause too much of a problem. I'll have a look at the links you've posted - once again thanks. Lou
Guest matt&dan
Hello We would like to pre load our meds and police check, however we have not yet received a file number. Can will still do this before receiving our number ?
ali
The file number ensures that all your documentation meets up as things get sent to different places. The meds form have a place to put in your file number.
Alan Collett
As Ali says, it would be best to await your file reference before arranging police certificates and medical examinations. As a guide, the ASPC is presently issuing file references for applications that were received at the very beginning of February. Best regards. Guest simon and jenean
Just a quick question in connection with all this. We are moving soon hopefully to Perth on 457 visa, but are soon to put in 136 application. Our CO for 457 thought that we would have to re-do the medicals, but having looked at the forms, they are the same. Does anyone know if we will be able to use existing medicals, and if so, whether we would just need to put a note on application with reference numbers to original application so they could get hold of them. We were also intending to send police checks with 136 application as we had to get these done for new work, would this be ok?? Any advice appreciated. ali
Not really sure about this, but seem to think that medicals like pc's may only be valid for 1 year, so this may be why they have to be redone. Alan may be able to answere this one for you.
Alan Collett
The medical examinations for 457 visas are usually not as in depth as for permanent residency visa applications, so be prepared to have to attend them again. Guest Arnold
hi, you can only re-use the meds if you had blood and urine samples done, DIAC will then just tie the two together Matt
Guest simon and jenean
Thanks for info. Me and the kids all had to give urine samples and I'm a nurse so had to have blood tests, so hopefully these should not have to be done again as they were the expensive bit? Any advice on whether the x-rays will need to be re-done, forgot to ask this before. Thanks Simon
