Vehicle painters

Recommended Posts

Guest Burness2Oz

G'day,

Has anyone sent of for their TRA assessment as a Vehicle Painter under the 175 Independent Skilled Visa?

We are getting our info together and think we read somewhere that we only have a paperwork assessment and not manual, is this the case?

Also do you know approx costs and timescales?

Thanks in advance Hx

Hi, My OH is a vehicle painter and done the TRA. He never had any papers given to him as proof of apprenticeship, but he had to get in touch with City and Guilds and pay to track down his certificate from 20 odd years ago. They found it and we got the copy. All the info for TRA wad very in detail about all his work history from apprenticeship untill now. Had to phone his manager from where he sat his apprnticeship to get a very detailed reference, the company is now shut down so we were lucky he did this for him. And another few employers done the same, but they are very in depthm quite stressfull but they were done and he passed, only waited 2 weeks. Oh! you have to take all refs and stat decs with contracts wage slips etc.. to be counter signed from solicitor. Thats all then on to whos going on visa. Dont think that trade needs vetasses, just TRA and thats it, thank god. Dont think you need tests done either when you get to OZ. We have an agent, Gomatilda.

Hi, Thanks for the reply, we are literately doing our TRA paperwork as we type to get certified tomorrow and posted Wednesday. We have had to do 4 dec's for companies no longer there and send photo evidence the most info we have is from current employer and C&G certs from apprenticeship. We can only hope it is all enough. OH says it is hard to detail because there are no many tools used to spray!!! How did ur OH find it? Thanks Hx

He found it easy lol....cos i bloody done it for him! Your agent will have a look at them first and if they are ok then they will be sent to TRA.Think it was explaining where he worked and who he worked with, who was his journeyman, if it was on site. How many hors he worked and what tools he used and how he used them. Ive forgotten alot but at the time it was stressfull.
