Or if you know of any meets in Brisbane (or go yourself) please can we have the details? We live in East Brisbane, near Kangaroo Point. When you're by yourself you have to meet people, no option. If hubby plays football or you play sport of any sort, especially team sport, I reckon it's a brilliant way of meeting people. I've moved around Oz a bit but still have friends all over from football. i would suggest that you let down any barriers you may have ( not suggesting you do have any of course ). We're all foreigners here and I've made life long friendships with South Africans, Chileans, Fijians as well as Aussies and EVEN SCOTS! We are currently renting in Robina but are looking to settle in Pacific Pines.Are there any meet ups planned for the near future? Guest woodsies11 Posted January 13, 2009 Share Posted January 13, 2009 Helena The trouble with most gyms is that people are there for themselves, they're focussed on beating or setting new goals etc. With a team type of sport you'll always get players bonding, ( hmm, not bondage! ). What about netball? Have you played that at all? I don't what sort of interests you have but for instance: you could join an Environmental group, if you are sympathetic to their causes.
