Hi nj

Going by what you posted and these links below, there is a big variation in sunrise/sunsets all over Oz........ Melbourne has the longest days, by the looks of it!!!!! 8)

Well, Tassie will have longer days in summer, being nearer the poles and all that

But I think I'm correct in saying that even Tasmania doesn't have as long summer evenings as anywhere in the UK - I recall there was a thread here about this.

 

Southernmost point of UK is Lizard Point - 49.96 degrees N

 

Hobart is at 42.88 degrees S

 

So summer days everywhere in the UK will be longer in terms of daylight hours than anywhere in Aus. Reverse applies in winter of course

 

I did enjoy living north of Stockholm.....for most of June & July it never got properly dark, dark royal blue was about the colour of the night sky
