calNgary Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Its in the foundations Eddie ,start your new life in the company of a top family and Oz will be a success!!lol Seriously though ,you are the sort of family who WONT allow anything to set you back ,you have had ups and downs like most familys do moving to a new country, your shippers being top of the list BUT you keep going and you keep smiling, thats what gets you through and makes life great. And the best bit ,is it just gets better the more you settle!! Cal x
Guest Aldo Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I can tell by the "tone" of your posts that you are happy with your lot and don't worry about upsetting us "going homers", we are also happy to be leaving. Every one's happy!!

Thanks.:spinny:

I think that there are a lot of people that expect Oz to be the UK with Sun! You definately get a thumbs up from me for being positive!!!
Guest JoanneHattersley Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Good on ya! Im with you! Ive been here nearly 4 years and VERY happy!

Guest OldiesRUs Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Fabulous. As others have said, I think it is all down to attitude. You can't expect to go to the other side of the world and expect it to be the same as here. You have to embrace the culture of your new country, not compare it with the UK all the time. I hope it contiues to go well for you and yours. Jean:wubclub:
Guest YellowGecko Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I think that there are a lot of people that expect Oz to be the UK with Sun! I think that's it in a nutshell as to why many Brits come over here and are unhappy. This place is sooo different to back home... not bad.. just different to what we may be used to. Eddie and Tina, good for you it's all working out for you over here, long may the good times continue!!! Jo x
ali Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Eddie we've found a similar thing - we both feel so much more relaxed here and able to 'switch off' something we probably never quite achieved in the UK (although until coming here we'd never really recognised it). Ali x
