Guest stevenl Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 The big worry my girlfriend has is that she suffers from very bad migraines and has to get all her tablets on prescription from the doctors. We will only be in the country for around a year unless we decide to stay so we are on a holiday working visa. Will she be able to get the tablets out their and if so will they be very expensive? also can you take tablets into the country with you from which she has saved over here? thank you in advance
Petals Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 What medication is she on? You can check the online chemists in Aus to see if it is on their list or the pharmaceutical benefit web site. All drugs are available here but some will have other names. Some are on the PBS Scheme and some are not and the ones that are not you have to pay full price for. Prescriptions on the PBS are $29. - $32.00 usually can be dearer or cheaper with some meds.
ali Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 You can bring medication with you - get a letter from her GP (she may have to pay for this), stating that she is travelling with such and such medication which is for personal use only. Ali
