Guest SHELLNMART Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Hi all we are in the process of applying for a trade visa, we have the forms now my other half is a bricklayer, do we need a trade assessment, i have been on vetassess website and started filling in the application form, but has this to be done before we do any work on our visa? guess you can tell i'm confused.com!!:huh:anyone help me out please:wacko: shellie

Yes he is, although he has only just in the last few months gone on his own before that he worked on building sites, why is it so hard?

Hi, I agree with brickie002 it is harder if your self-employed especially if your moving from site to site as need to obtain employment references from all contractors worked for if possible. It is hard but where there's a will there's a way and when you get the positive result the feeling is great, as from our experience it wasn't all plain sailing but we got there in the end. Andrea
