Hi

I am in my final of Uni in the UK and have chosen to do my final dissertation on Ten Pound Poms. Several members of my family emmigrated under this scheme and I would really love to hear other peoples' experiences. Please let me know if you would be interested at all!

Thank you very much!!

Hi Hannah,

My Mum went to Australia as a 'ten pound tourist'. She returned a few years later though (having found her husband, my father). If it helps send me the questions too and i'll get her to complete them.

Hiya Hannah,

My aunt and uncle travelled to Oz as £10 poms with 4 children am sure my aunt would be happy to help - I shall email her and asked if she doesn't mind me sending her email to u.

All the best,

Nikci

My Aunt and Uncle emigrated as ten pound poms with their fourteen children, the largest family ever to emigrate from Ireland. My Mum has the newspaper cuttings etc, and I'm in touch with a few of them if there's anything you want to ask them. None of them returned to Ireland to live and are in different parts of Australia.

Good luck with your dissertation.

Best wishes

Sheena

Hi My mother in law went out when she was about 8 years old - she is 61 now, so we are following in her footsteps but she had to come back to UK.
