Guest CathCol Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Hi, Just wondering how to get a healthvisitor as I know you do not have to sign up to a certain GP so are healthvisitors linked to Gps like here? How do they maintain consistency if you can move from Dr to Dr with your child? Any ideas? Thanks Catherine:wubclub:
Petals Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 What kind of health visitor. If its for a baby you have to go to the local child care centre and see the nurse there each week. When I had mine a long long time ago the maternal health nurse made one visit to the home which was arranged by the hospital and then you went to the clinic after that. If you need home nursing then the gp or specialist arranges that. Other than that no-one sees anyone at home. Have to stagger into the gp or the hospital. You can pick any gp you like if you go to one and you do not like the clinic just try somewhere else as long as they are taking patients its your choice. Diabetic educators and the like are arranged by patients docs.
ali Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 I know in the area I work they have a community clinic for children and there's a school nurse too Ali
