Hi

we are going to oz on visa 175 o/h is plasterer he has done alot of research, but most of the help has come from this amazing site:yes: plastering in oz is slightly different to the way we do it here!! but the basic idea is a plaster in oz is one of 3 trades u dont do all 3:

1) fixer

2) taper and jointer

3) renderer

they plaster o/s (render) the way we plaster inside and call it render. they also have fitters (boarders) who fix aprox 6ft boards and then they have tape and jointers which is the same as us.

hope this helps (and makes sense hahaha)

Hi

Thanks for your reply. Did your o/h have to have his skills assessed. If so how long did this take, and how much did the whole process cost from begining to end.

Do you know where the best place is to search for job vaccancies. Sorry for all of the questions, but no one else has replied.

Thanks x

Hi o/h didnt do skilled assessment as he has NVQ Level 2 and went through TRA and x amount of yrs experiance (not sure what they asked for). there is alot of paperwork involved and its very repetative explaining what tools u use and HOW u plaster a wall.

Are u goin through an agent? as for job vaccancies we have been talking to people we know in oz it is hard findng jobs on the internet

feel free to ask any more questions i will do my best to help good luck
