KarenG Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 does anyone out there know if there is an actual register or list of sponsoring companies or do you just apply for everything and hope for the best ? I'm getting very impatient at this point. Thanks. :arghh:
Guest hannah7819 Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 Hi Karen - just found this on another site- someone asking same question as youand this was the moderators reply I'm afraid it's not as easy as that. It's quite rare to get a company to sponsor you. Some do, most don't. It's down to the individual company therefore it's impossible to give you a list. Do some research on companies in Australia that are like the one you are working for at the moment and send them a letter asking if they are willing to sponsor you. You could also contact a few recruitment agencies, they tend to know which companies are willing to sponsor. Hope this helps Dolly Basically advises you to do exactly what you have been doing - don't know whether you had thought of contacting reruitment out there but they - i suppose - would have more of an idea -hope that helps/ no joy on phone call then???

I was told by a recruitment consultant that companies can have 'pre-approved' visa's, I assume this means they have already got approval to recruit outside Australia for that position. Workforce Solutions are a recruitment agency that will also sponsor you but they deal mostly in trades (although I have seen sales on their site as well) Although there isn't an official list maybe we can start one of 'sponsor friendly' companies here? I'm going to work for Insurance Commission of WA in the IT Development Dept. Jules
KarenG Posted October 4, 2008 Author Posted October 4, 2008 Thanks Jules, i have been onto their site just now and registered with them. I also registered with a company in WA called the Shelley Group maybe they would be of benefit to someone else. Thanks again, Karen
