My mum had her Visa granted on Thursday. She applied back in May last year. It is a huge relief for all of us as she had a Heart Attack at the end of last year.

So for all those parents waiting hang in there I am sure it will not be long.

Hi Claire

FANTASTIC NEWS!!!!

You must be so relieved and delighted. Is Mum still in the UK? If so, does she have any idea of when she will be moving to Oz? Prolly a bit too early to say, maybe?

Great news though, all the same!! :jiggy:

Best wishes

Hi Gill

Thanks so much. Yes we are very relived thanks and pleased. Mum is still in the UK and has now got the problem of trying to sell her house. It has been on the market for about 3 months now and only a couple of viewings. She can't see it selling in the near future so will come over here in Jan to validate and then we will take it from there.

How are you finding WA?

Kate

We are finding WA just fine. Weather is bit on and off at the moment but it is getting warmer. Find everyone very helpful and friendly I think the Aussies are going to become a protected species soon with all the Brits and South Africans filtering in!

Although sometimes I still want to go back to the UK. I think that emotions just take over sometime. My OH is now working away for 2 weeks at a time, I have kids who are on holiday at the moment and only been here nearly 3 months so still in the process of making friends. Have my sister here which is lovely but I know she has her own friends and does not want me following her around all the time so do feel lonely. Once kids are back at school I can get on with my new cleaning job. Do sometimes wonder if this is the life we really want but we will persevere.

Early days Claire. You are bound to be feeling strange, floating in and out of different emotions. Just keep going. Things will improve and you will start to settle. Just treat it like a new job. One day someone will ask YOU something that you know the answer to and suddenly you won't be the new one anymore.

Take care.

Kate
