The facrt that you've got the last 4 years tax returns is brill, go to a solicitor and do a statutory declaration stating that you have been self employed for the amount of years that you are covering. It will cost you around £10 - £15 and will be a legal document. Think that shpuld go a long way to satifying your case. madplumber
Guest on my way!!!! Guest madplumber1 Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Hi Doesn't matter how much you've earnt in whatever particular year, dependant on what type of visa your going for they are looking for work experience within you particular trade. All the evidence you have is brill and the stat dec will reinforce that. I'm going on a 176 state sponsored, so they require me to have worked within my trade for the last 4 out of 5 years. Good luck madplumber
Guest on my way!!!! Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 thanks again mad plumber big help think i'll press that send button then & hope for the best good luck with your visa i'll let you know how i get on
Guest migration_agent Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Hi , perhaps I can help. The evidence you have provided simply demonstrates that you have been working over the last four years and sheds no light on the nature and content of the work you have done - this is usually evidenced by employment letters that corroborate what is stated on your CV. Being self employed, I'd say you are going to need letters from those you carried out works for over the last 4 years. These letters need to state where you worked, how many hours a week, whether it was full/part time & the nature of the duties that you performed. This is important as you have nominated a particular occupation & the CO needs to ascertain whether or not the duties you performed over the relevant period are that of your nominated occupation. In this instance the CO will look to the ASCO (australian standard classification of occupations) definition of your nominated occupation to determine the aforementioned. I hope that this post has helped !

I hope that this post has helped ! hi thanks for that i did send a couple of customer letters, stat dec, invoices & the last tax form with app the request asked for proof of employment but specifially mentioned was payslips, (obviously dont have) tax forms, profit & loss statements, adverts, photos of work done. I have just sent 19 attachments including all of the above & more but do you think it may be a good idea to get more customer letters & send them ASAP?
Guest jewels1356 Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 i think if you get in touch with your tax office they might help you prove it as even if you havent ernt a lot you must have still filled tax returnes god luck julie xx
Guest on my way!!!! Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 thanks jewels its the payslips i dont have i have now sent 4 yrs tax calculation forms along with EVERYTHING (except payslips) that was requested & more besides so heres hoping i hear something soon
Guest heieup Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 They asked us for 4 years worth of proof and OH is employed by a large company. We sent a reference from the company stating what he did and how long he had been employed for, 4 years worth of wage slips, 4 years of P60s and 4 years worth of evidence of beign paid into our bank account. I think what you have listed sounds good (but I'm no agent) and roughly equivalent to what we had to send through as well. However as migration agent says it doesn't stipulate what you did for your work unless your tax returns and accounts detail the labour elements of course ? If you could get a few references or customer letters from 2 3 and 4 years ago I think that would strengthen your case.
