Hi everyone

My BF and I are due to fly out in about 6 weeks (on a sponsored work visa) and as of yet have no where to stay when we arrive! We were thinking that initially a hotel maybe to give us a few weeks to find rented accomodation, but don't know if this is being totally unrealistic. Can anybody offer any advice as to the best course of action (money being an object), as I don't know whether or not a hotel would be best or maybe trying to secure some kind of short term lease from here. Help!

Thanks

Try a holiday rental first - cheaper than hotels usually and more "homely" if you pick the right one. Try Stayz - No 1 in Holiday Accommodation Rentals I have always managed to find something there. Alternatively Wotif.com: Hotels, Accommodation, Motels, Serviced Apartments, B&B - Online hotel bookings with instant confirmation is good and you can search for, say, serviced apartments - they dont book up very far ahead though.

Hi

I would try getting a serviced apartment. Generally (although not always) leases are a min of 6 months and you require a bond and months rent up front.

Serviced aptmnts can be about the same as a hotel but you don't need to eat every meal out in restaurants or cafes, which can rack up serious money (not to mention the effect on your figure!!).

If your looking to Sydney here is a link.

Have you tried the caravan parks? There are loads about, and they usually have a pool, laundry facilities etc, and they are cheaper than hotels. Some do longer rentals too. Worth a look.
