Guest YellowGecko Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 We phoned these companies up last night to inform them we're giving them notice in which to close our accounts. We were on the phone to them on hold, being put through to differing depts etc, for exactly 1 hour 46 minutes total. :arghh: ....I will never complain about Virgin/NTL ever again.... I LOVE YOU RICHARD BRANSON!!!!!
Petals Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Did you try doing it on line. I usually use the web so I don't have to wait if its a service thingy. Also try to phone the day its easier to get through. My thinking is that they hope we will all go away and not change anything or stop anything.

Guest YellowGecko Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 We'd get through to talk to someone, who'd listen to what we had to say (or parts thereof!!), who'd then say to hold the line whilst they put us through to someone else... we'd reply, "we're not gonna be put on hold, listening to crappy music again for another half an hour, are we?" - they'd say "No"... then guess what... another 20 - 30 mins on hold. And yes, we will need to phone on the day of leaving with them, to cancel. But Telstra got it sorted and have said we need do nothing more now, that's we'd be cut off on the day we specified. What's happened with the service, webweazel, since Virgin took over? What have I missed?
Petals Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 I think all of them aim to disappoint, so easy to get a service but so difficult to get them if you have a problem or want some service. We have stayed with Telstra as they do give good service on faults and last time I called the guy arrived at my home the same day.
Guest YellowGecko Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Yep I think BigPond suck bigtime, though. Maybe it was just the wrong time to call.. ie.. early evening. Just spoke to mother who says she had to ring Virgin about their cable tv service and was only on hold for 6 mins, the other day. I LOVE YOU DICK B!!!!! :spinny: Been told horror stories of Optus as well. If we'd be staying here, think I'd go with Iprimus.. not heard much bad stuff about them... Jo x
Quoll Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 LOL yes, avoid Optus like the plague! Apart from the fact that you need a degree in bill deciphering to actually understand their mobiles bills, in order to talk to a real flesh and blood person you actually have to talk to a robot who will try and decode what it is you have just said. When they dont understand what you say, you end up so frustrated, shouting at the bloody phone - not a person on the other end, just a voice decoder!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It can take aeons to actually get through to a real live person!
